Yuk! - From: Damper on my mood
What a jerk! Everything happens for a reason though, so consider it a blessing in disguise! This only leaves you wonderfully available to meet other handsome men! It speaks a lot of you that you are trying to be friends, I have done the same thing. Totally can relate. Still proud of you though, with or without the jerkface. xoxo love you

Que Tal - From: Chica?
The way to answer "que tal" is with bien or mal (hardly ever used). It's like saying "how is it going?" Que pasa is more like "what is going on" so that can be answered with nothing.

You have the travel bug - me to. There is so much out there to experience. When you were a little girl, and I had my travel agency, I told you that I would take you to Korea. It's important to get all the answers. I was totally surprised that you wanted to be a lawyer - WOW. I truly have never met someone with such education skills and deep commitments. Make your voice heard. I hope you can come to visit us and tell us all about your adventures. Miss you and love you, Aunt Carol

The problem with Argentina is racism...it is not a good country for asian people. I was not allowed to enter a rugby people club...whites only.

i miss you! - From: Homesick
i remember waiting for classes to start in Ghana; they were delayed because of a lecturer strike. i was super homesick and just wanted classes to begin so that i could start something new and stop thinking about home. Homesickness is really normal,a nd it sounds like you already have a lot of friends to talk to about it. i know you know this, but you know, you'll be fine and wonderful and enjoying all the other "stages" of travel soon, so get ready! haha hows the roomate? walnut sent our leases to my address, and i signed your name, can i sign your dad's name too??

hahaha, i think i've talked to you about this before but i'm not sure, but i always feel so silly when people ask me que tal o que pasa, because i don't know if you're supposed to say "bien," or "bueno," or "nada." so i end up like mumbling "bbuenedada."

Excited for you! - From: a week away
kim, I didn't realize you were leaving so soon, I don't know why I thought you still had a lot more time before leaving. Its pretty awesome you are going abroad. I'm really excited for you, it will be a great learning experience. I have no idea what Argentina looks like. Honestly I think of a big rain forest and tribal people. Hahaha, though I am guessing its not really like that =P I want to go to some other countries some day (other then Mexico and Canada). It's cool that you have this blog, Ill check it out while you are away. I may stop home on Sunday but if I cant please be safe and enjoy your time abroad. Take lots of pics and movies and keep us up to date on how you are doing. Adam
