My adventure in Costa was way too short but I had such a sick time. I went to Costa Rica to visit my sister (technically cousin) Vicki, her awesome surfer Californian fiance Ryan, their gorgeous baby daughter Marley, and quirky dog Guarva. They own property and have a really cute house in a small town 30 minutes south of Jaco called (confidential). Their home is very isolated, has a pool, and is less than a mile from the Pacific. There are farms everywhere and it's such a great place to unwind and relax. The journey began in Newark airport and due to the fact that I'm a loyal Continental flyer with many many miles, I upgraded to first class. First class for sure has its perks. Shorter security lines, priority labeled luggage, free direct TV and ... read more

I attached a video from Barbados-- hope you enjoy!! The long dreary days of New Jersey are coming to an end for me this weekend! On Sunday, I'm flying down first class to Costa Rica to visit my favorite family in the world! I'm so excited to escape the cold and warm up my bones again. I'll be gone for a week, missing my first week at school, but it will be so worth it! Just have some last minute packing to do, I haven't used my surfboards since Barbados so they're all set. Tropical tube time awaits! After Costa, my agenda includes a NJ girl surf trip to Puerto Rico in March!, possibly Florida for a weekend in April!, and (fingers crossed) PERU in May! I'll be sure to post a blog after CR, until ... read more

From a traveling perspective, Barbados has something to offer everyone; white sandy beaches, coral reefs, palm trees, caves, monkeys, and of course world class surfing. Our hotel, the New Edge Water, is situated right above Soup Bowl, a heavy right hand wave thats claimed to be one of Kelly Slater's favorite waves in the world. Soup Bowl is on the East Coast and breaks over shallow reef. The whole East Coast is crazy, really rocky, underwater caves, and bad currents. Every ... read more

I thought it would be a fun idea to start off the new year with a blog about my adventures around the world. I know it's a little late, after my crazy year in 2009 with trips to Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Cali, Fiji and my semester in Australia.. but hey, better late than never. I'm writing this from Barbados and will give a full update once I'm back in lovely New Jersey. As for now, I'm enjoying my last days in paradise and can definitley wait to get home. Traveling has become my greatest passion and I'm super lucky to have a great family supporting me though it all. I've seen so many amazing places and met some interesting people. I hate sight-seeing, my trips are 100% based around surfing and destinations that offer good ... read more
