Oy Vey. We are here safe and sound in Barcelona, Spain, but not without many mishaps and hiccups, I guess you could say. Well here is how it started. We found a train itinerary that would have us in Barcelona last night, from Interlaken. Hello!! Let me first say that Cinque Terre is AMAZING. We have a GREAT room with a balcony overlooking the teal blue water. Yesterday we took a hike to Monterosso which was challenging but beautiful. Then we came back (by train, haha) and went swimming in the ocean for a couple hours. The water is so clear and the perfect temperature. I could have stayed in for hours longer. I figured I would give you guys a little glimpse into our daily life...what is it like to live out of a backpack and move around so much you ask? Voila! We usually wake up around 9 AM. Sometimes earlier if we have to catch a train. If it is our last night wherever we are, we tend to pack the night before so as not to wake our roommates in the morning. Ciao! We left Rome yesterday and arrived in Florence, or Firenze. Our hotel truly is amazing...its a cheap, 2 star budget hotel that I think we nabbed for like 20 euro a night. Our room is at the top floor and it has a door to the rooftop terrace. It isnt our own terrace, everyone can use it, but its nice to have access to it from our room. The best part is, it overlooks the Duomo, which is one of the largest cathedrals in the world, and the main architectural point of interest in Florence. It is pretty much a [View Full Entry]

Ciao from Roma, Italia! Wow so we never had time to write about our anniversary night in Venice...but it was THE most romantic night of my life...and one of the BEST nights of my life, in general. We started out with a great (and fairly inexpensive!) 3 course dinner at a quiet little restaurant. We had lasagna, spaghetti, salad, pork chops, calamari, and a really yummy rose wine! Haha. Not really hungry, but rather IN HungAry. Our hostel is okay...we are safe and sound. Today we walked around the city of Pest...see Budapest is really made up of 2 citites...Buda and Pest. We went to some thermal Turkish style baths today and that was a lot of fun. It looked like the baths in England, except cooler cuz you can actually swim in them. We did quite a bit of walking around, saw Parliament and Heroes Square among other things. We are here for one more day and will walk around Buda tomorrow. Then its off to Venice.
