Dandenong.
Dandenong.
Jean and I looking happy in the freezing cold winter morning. I've got KC's jacket on - double protection. Hah.
After a night of partying with the Interior Design students, I got picked up at 3am in the morning by KC and friends to head to Dandenong Mountains, 40km from Melbourne. No notice as usual! Jon was here visiting and wanted to see the sights so off we went to the mountains in the middle of winter 2001. We arrived close to 5am, took a walk in the freezing cold. The sight was amazing but too dark for our cameras to capture any decent photos. As the sun came up we headed to check out Puffing Billy, the 100-year-old steam train [View Full Entry]

Sydney Opera House.
Sydney Opera House.
I've seen so many pictures of the Opera House but nothing beats seeing it in person. It's an Australian icon.
Pris and I were on the phone with each other watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics on tv, when we were hit by a brilliant idea to catch a flight there for a day. We thought it'd be good to at least watch some event so we bought tickets to the women's indoor volleyball. Weather wasn't really good the day we went but that didn't stop us from snapping pictures and walking in the rain. At the volleyball, we saw Gustavo Kuerten the Brazillian tennis player. I was too chicken to ask for a picture, but he was giving out [View Full Entry]

Home of the Twelve Apostles. I guess I was lucky enough to have seen them before one of the apostles vanished! The road to the Twelve Apostles itself is filled with amazing scenery and interesting towns like Torquay, Lorne, Apollo Bay. Bells Beach near Torquay is a venue for the World Surfing Championship. Great Ocean Road stretches for about 250km. It was freezing when Fidelia, Pris & I went on a day trip. Situated in the Port Campbell National Park, the Twelve Apostles are limestone rocks, some as high as 45 metres. The view takes your breath away. I was there [View Full Entry]

What's an Aussie camping trip without a barbie?
Camping trip to Wilson's Prom in Gippsland, with the cell group from C.O.C. We stayed at a camping site at Tidal River - fully equipped with toilets, hot showers and barbecue facilities - Aussies can't live without their barbies! Mike brought his tents from home - we were all pretty new with camping so he did most of the work putting up the tents. Squeaky Beach is possibly the cutest beach I've ever seen or more importantly, heard. This beach literally squeaks as you walk on the sand! It's so fun!! I could jog on this beach just to hear the [View Full Entry]
