DAY 58 Up nice and early as usual, not quite watching the sun rise, but certainly giving me the quiet time I love. DAY 56 2nd January 2009 Title(Seven, eights) Again it’s somewhat difficult to produce the blog for the 2nd January as not that much happened. We are somewhat restricted by our own acceptance that whilst looking after someone else’s animals, you can’t spend that much time away from the appointed property. DAY 55 - 1st January 2009 - New Years Day! Well Happy New Year bloggers! I stumbled out of bed this morning, feeling very tired from our late night (early morning), that had to be the latest we have been to bed since being in Australia so we are not used to it. DAY 54 31ST December 2008 (New Year’s Eve) Today waking up on the sunshine coast you can definitely feel the difference in the strength of the sun compared to Port Stevens, 10.00am and it was already very hot. Andy got out of bed fairly early as usual, tended to the needs of Moffy and Charlie and settled down at the Internet with a cup of tea. DAY 53 30th December 2008 We surfaced just in time for breakfast, and with all that rain I thought It may have extinguished the sun forever, but thank the lord the sun had risen again today and was breaking in to the bedroom. It was so warm and muggy last night I slept on top of the bed all night whilst Caroline went for the sausage role effect. DAY 52 29th December 2008 Monday Title Coffs and Sneezes So, whilst most of you, as in the population of England, were coughing and sneezing with the apparently “Australian” Flu, we were busy tidying the house and packing our cases ready for our onward journey. Today we were leaving Kruger Manor in Port Stephens to make our way North for New Year, Faye and Graydon were due back and around 2.00pm, after their Christmas break. DAY 51 Sunday Sunday in our house in the UK, was never really peaceful, it was a day of painting, carpentry, or fettling or riding the bike, and possibly listening to Steve Wright on a Sunday morning, but it did mean I was out of bed at 5.00am more often than not, and If I wasn’t out on the KTM then Caroline always got her tea in bed. DAY 50 27th December 2008 Today, Saturday was really the first day after Christmas and I needed a pair of “Thongs” aka (Flip Flops) and the television advert for Rivers department store said they have got loads. The nearest store was in Nelson Bay, which was about ¾ of an hour away. We had fed the dog her morning chow and locked up the house and got on our way, we new it was going to be busy just by the number of cars on the road, still nothing to compared to Southampton or Birmingham. DAY 49 (Boxing Day) It was sort of one of those days you get now and again that I hate, the day feels so dysfunctional and you just can’t be arsed to do anything. The morning started as usual, we just sat around drinking tea and having our toast just sort of pondering what we needed to do today if anything. One thing I really wanted to do was wash the truck, so it was good to go when we got away on Monday. The sun was bright and the day probably 26-28 degree’s so it was more than warm enough.
