Fallen off the horse, get on it again Warsaw doesn't hate you. There were just too many changes. I think every traveller should pick up the old video - Planes, Trains, Automobiles. Like yourself, I'd rather try to make my own arrangements than let tour guides make it easy for us. I won't take the limelight from you to share my near horror story on the Laos/Thailand border. Maybe the stars just weren't alligned right, shit happens. Thanks for sharing your experience. Keep on trekking!
Oh Judy. This is terrible. So are you not going to Estonina for Easter then?
I'm still in Krakow, I leave tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll text you later tonight. Take care. Vala
Funny you ask... That's one of the questions on the test -- "why are you here taking polish language lessons". Well, I'm unemployed, free to do as I please (until my money runs out) and I want to travel in Poland afterwards. So might as well learn how to speak it while I'm here... But of course I don't know how to say all that in Polish. :-p
Oh yeah, a Christmas Story! That's where I've seen that photo! It's weird, when I saw the photo I was thinking, hm, that looks familar. But I haven't done anything like that before. So I was just remembering from the movie. I doubt any other tongues had touched that pillar at the *same exact place* my tongue had touched the pillar, but probably a few thousand skanky hands had pawed their way across that same exact spot. But like you say (and I thought), salt's antiseptic. I'll be alright.
You licked it! OMG I can't believe you licked it. Okay, so the salt probably kills all germs. But still who knows how many tongue touched that pillar. EW. On the upshot, it's a cool photo and it reminds me of A Christmas Story, when the boy double dog dared his classmate to lick the icy metal pole.
Cabbages and pierogies I've always liked cabbage and here it's no different. The pierogies are just like chinese dumplings except the skin is thicker. Good thing I really like them! Haven't gotten tired of them yet.
'Chinese' food looks good on photo They look sorta Chinese. But dill is definitly not it. But you should've tasted the Chinese food I had in India.
How are randomn people finding your blogs??
what you ate I asked Mother what can she eat, being vegetarian in Poland. Haha, she said you eat a lot of cabbage and those potato thingies.
Now there is photo proof.
Still with you Hi! It's really cool to read about your outings. From hot sandy beaches to stale spring rolls. Got to love your ability to get along with the locals. Hopefully we won't have to live vicariously through you to see all these interesting places. Gosh, don't you feel used? *sad* Think many of your blog list friends were worried when the building crumbled and that poor old man got hurt. Good to see you've got an eye for bagles. Seems like Europe does pastries well.
i knew you had a sweet spot for poles
well it seems that like every where else, when you are hungry and tired everything is annoying, while when you are rested and full of pierogi you are happy and nothing can ruin it.
go girl
Not my first time traveling alone.. just my first time in Poland! :) I really didn't see any ATMs in the bus station... can I just blame that on my bad eyesight? Thanks!
its actualy somthing like " co masz robic na lekcjah polskiego" Great blog entry Judy,
It almost feels like you enjoy bitching so much that will keep you in poland for a while
dont mind the ......
keep learning polish , you never know when its gonna get handy ;)
yes keep practising: raz dwa trzy cztery
Ahh, travel Lol, sounds like you had an interesting time in Poland - but really i do have to point out, that it does seem you are maybe travelling alone for the first time :) - don't get offended, but seriously, not being able to find a ATM near the bus station in warsaw!!!! i mean, that actually takes talent- there are ATM's (not to mention money changing places) EVERYWHERE. Plus, almost all restuarant, fast food places take visa. Plus, all the hotels areound the palce take dolalr/euro - and theuy all have restaurants.... plus there is a mcdonald, burger king, kfc, kebab store etc, tat also takes visa....
anyway, I shouldnt bitch, I had a very similar experience in new york, except that the taxi driver didnt rip me off for ten bucks, but stole my 2000 dollar laptop... But i wtill love new york ...
Good luck with your travels :)
