| 25th October 2005 sonja | a complain about the ecoamazonia lodge - From: AMAZON FEVER A Complain about the EcoAmayonia Lodge Oh, sorry for my bad English, I am a German girl. All I can and want to say about the lodge was that they are actually nice and well organized there, actually! The problem with me was, that I was going to stay there for 5 days because that was the first flight my agency could book me on, everything else was full. But the lodge had just program for 4 days, which was not bad for me at all, I wanted to stay 1 day all by myself. Of course I would have paid for that extra day! But the people in charge told me, that I was the only one booked on that flight, which was pretty early in the morning, and they did not want to make the effort of taking me all alone down 2,5 hours to the airport. Actually it is included in their service, but I could understand them, so I went 1 day earlier to Maldonado. By accident I found out, that there were 38 people in the lodge booked on my flight, maybe the people in charge did not know that by the time they were telling me that I was the only one, but they could have told me afterwards, instead, they just told me when to get up in the morning to get along with other tourists, who were about to fly back at that day. So when I found out, I asked the one guide, if I could not just return with him to the lodge and come back to Maldonado tomorrow with all the others, because Maldonado is not the place that you want to stay in, when you are a girl and do not speak Spanish. Well, you know, I have been in lots of places alone, even in south America, but Maldonado is a dusty ugly town, with no tourists and therefore with no English speaking people, no nice hostals, no nice places at all. You know what he told me? No, I could not come back, because the boat is full with 38 tourists in it! Well, that was not the service I deserved and paid for. Above all, they did not give me back my plane ticket, but the guide was assuring me, that I would get it tomorrow and that the office in the airport will be open. By that time I was very worried about that, because I found already out that they lied to me. And of course, the office was not open and the guide was not there. At the end I got everything, but still I had a really bad time in Maldonado not understanding the people and feeling thrown out of the lodge, that really spoiled a lot of my trip. |
