Hope you haven\'t been caught up in any of teh political turmoil. Old Belesconi seems to have cooked his own goose now!.HAd our final assembly yesterday with fareewells to Jan and Dawid. Applications closed for his job yesterday. A number of womenhave come thru\' which is interesting. Think they short tlisty them this weekend and interview next. Susanna applied for her old job back at Dannevirke and missed out on it. Cannot afford to drop $15,000 I think i heard just to be an ordinary teacher!!! Seniors are on exam leave now with the 1st exams tomorrow. The network upgrade seesm to be going well. Classes are being moved to accomodate the workmen. Weather is slowly warming up, but in saying that temps are down to 15 tomorrow. Am walking in the MEGA Mitre 10 walk this weekend starting at Awatoto adn walking round to the Napier store. - 17 km. Though 28 k from Hastings to Napier just a tad too far. You are really having a fabulous trip. Enjoy the last 3 weeks and I look forward to seeing all the photos and hearing all the stories on your return. Happy travels. Deirdre

more ruins
you would think in this day and age that they would use some municipal monies and get rid of all those old ruins or at least do them up a bit!! A little bit of paint and paper goes a long way. Sounds like you are having a great time and good to see that you had a home cooked meal of spaghetti? But enough of that foreign muck what about mince on toast? Hopefully the weather lasts for your last days there. I am guessing that the rain in Egypt won't be a problem? Take care and travel safe

Christines house
Hi Mum and Dad Im sure Ryan has already told you, but if he hasnt. We spent about 2 or so hours at Christines house the other day. Moved the boxes and furniture up to the sleepout, put the rubbish down in the garage and I weed eated the whole, well most of, the property, took me over 1 1/2 hours to do. The overgrown grass situation was nearly as bad as the lower section of our property. Everything was all ok there though. Im enjoying reading the Blogs so keep them coming. Love you both. Keep having fun :)

You two are certainly clocking up the miles in the alking dept. Pity you didn't have a pedometer with you to calculate the distance you have covered! You are having a wonderful trip that is for sure. The weather has finally turned sunny today after very unsettled stuff for almost a week. Even had winter clothes back on on Thrus and Fri. HAve our 1st prize giving on Thurs wiht Dom Bird as guest speaker. Planning our Ladies night with farewell to Jan NAirn as the focus for the 25th Nov. Sorry you won't be back Joy, but will toast to you!!. Justine's daughter is lovely and just like William to look at at the same age. Don't know whether I gave you her name - Elizabeth Fleur. Very royal names in that family. Shaye poke to me Y9 ODE. Sounds like we will be near the river at Patangata this year as Epic are wanting to do rafting there. Continue to enjoy your travels. Much love and take care. Deirdre

What a wonderful tiome you are having. It is raining here tonight as well. There have thunderstorms around since about 3pm and it is now 8.30 and the rain is still going!!!!. No news of a baby yet. Justine was due yesterday but think she is still a little high for imminent delivery, however time will tell. There msut be a major emergency down CHB somewhere tonight. There has been a constant flow of speeding police cars hooning past here tonight. Would you believe at least 8. No doubt ther will be somthing on the local news in the morning. Is hard to believe that there is only another 6 days of holiday to go. At least the garden is tidy and it has been a relaxing time.Kendall is walking the Heaphy track so he is not home unitl Friday 5 pm. Hope this finds you both fit and well. Take care Deirdre

Hi Joy and Bruce We have been away to Whangarei over the last week as my mother died in her sleep last Monday. Lovely to get back and catch up with all your exciting news. We too enjoyed Paris. When we visited the Sacre Coeur all the surrounding area outside was filled with artists painting - some lovely work was being done. I hope you enjoy your cruise on the Thames as much as we did. We went to Greenwich for the day - sunny and super commentry on the trip there and back. Cheers Jane

Holiday
Hello again Bruce and Joy, You certainly are packing heaps into your well deserved holiday. Is hard to believe that we have almost had a week of ours. Justine is still holding on.Mid wife thinks she may see her over the weekend but time will tell. I have had William a couple of days so that she can have a break. He is such a good little boy. Ross and I have been busy putting pea vine hay around some trees that we have planted. Was supposed to be quite wet today, but instead has been quite humid. We may well get a thunderstorm later tho. Big news in NZ is the stranding of a cargo ship off Tauranga and all the containers at a major list or even in the sea, A real maritime disaster. Had a call from Mary Stiles this morning to say that her daughter has found a wedding dress so I no longer need to be the dress maker. She was telling me that Trish Kyle ( I am sure I have the name right) is very ill. Been diagnosed with a brain tumor and riddled with cancer, so very sad. Enjoy the next part of your travels, and hopefully I will txt you in the next few days with news of a new grandchild. Take care and happy travels. Deirdre

You two must be really fit with all the walking! We did a lot of New York by double decker tour bus where you could hop on hop off at the sights you wanted to see. We were at ground zero one year to the day after 9/11. Really eerie around the spot. Like you folk we found it a great and interesting place to visit but without that WOW factor. A place not to miss but maybe not one that you need to visit too many times. Have a great time on the next step of your adventure. Cheers Jane

Hi to you both. What a wonderful trip you are having. We loved out Amtrac journey across the States although don't be in a hurry! Freight trains take preference on the tracks in the states. I wonder if your arrival at Penn Station is at 2pm during the day or like ours was at night. Quite a magic scene coming up out of the station to all those tall buildings and lights. At least you will have some time to relax in the observation cars and put your feet up for a while. Cheers Jane

Glad to be able to keep up to date via this website. Sounds like so much fun already, besides the flights obviously. But with all that travel you have to expect some crap. Please say hi to Ted for me, and tell him sorry for being such an annoying kid when he was in NZ. Glad you guys are having fun and once again embarking on such a journey. Look forward to your next update. PS: your right pokie machines are over rated. But glad you gave it a go. Love from Me, Miri and kids

Its all Chinese to me
You must be relieved to be out of Egypt it appears to be going off at the moment. Just a word....no matter what you eat in Hongkong it's all Chinese food. If you buy it in China it's Chinese. Hope Joys toe is better but it could be advantageous as it may slow shopping down?? NOT! Enjoy your last days of freedom and live it up
