Deb´s Oaxaca Visit ok, new at the blog thing....submitted one earlier but didn´t post--so here goes. Lil´Deb is being sent to Oaxaca. She is being trained as an HIV specialist and part of her training involves visiting Oaxaca. From the pics, it is absolutely stunning. Would have preferred visiting there than Japan or Korea! :)
Deb´s Oaxaca Adventure Her job is sending her there to meet with the gente. She´s being trained as an HIV specialist....maybe you´ll be there at the same time. Quien sabe?????????'
teacher's strike Thank you for your perspective on the strike, Lois. I am eager for more information about what is currently happening. I know from friends with school-age children that the Oaxaca public schools are in great need of reform. I can't imagine that any qualified person who knows about education would make the comment that the teachers already make too much money and don't really support the strike , as sited in the blog that preceeded yours.
How is the city Ive read that the teachers are striking on the centro historico. I am planing on visiting Oaxaca this next week for the first time , but Im afraid the teacher s holdling might ruin access to the touristic areas???
How are things down there?
Thanks
How fun! It sounds like you are having a great time there but it sounds tiring too--a 4 hour walking tour??? The foods sound really delicious too (except for the capulines)--I love Horchata! Anyhow, I look forward to reading more about your adventures there! Take care!
