the day before yesterday we left the miramees and said good bye to sherif and ahmed who were really nice staff there (if your in cairo then stay there however it is not good quality but the nice people make up for it definitally and its cheap). to get to the train we took the metro and it was stuffed to capasity people were struggling to get on and not fall out the doors when they opened, one man said for a joke "welcome to egypt". when we got to the train it was a let down, we were in first class (things are really cheap here) and the seats were not very good the dinner tabes were dirty and smelt like somthing died on them and dads chair was broken but we got to luxor ... read more

yesterday we went to the pyramids and it wasnt what we expected we were not allowed to climb the pyramids and the sphinxe was all out of bounds so we couldnt go in it however the great pyramid was quite impressive, it was 60 egytian pounds to get in and the way to get to the middle was difficult for dad as we had to crouch down to get there, the air was thick with dust and we had to walk on a 45 degree ramp so it was quite hard. dad didnt really enjoy the pyramids as the hastlers were really anoying because not much tourists were there to bother so we got all the hastle that should of been spread over 100s of people! today we're going to luxor on a sleeper train and ... read more

yesterday me and dad climbed mt sianai to the monestry which is very religious to christians, muslims and jews but to climb it you could take 3000 steps up made by a single monk that heard god tell him to do it or you could take a camel path that was more modern but alot longer because it zig zagged up the mountain to the top. we went in the middle of the night to a tour bus with 12 other people that took 2 hours to get to the mountain and when we got there a guide took us up the camel path and it was really tiring even in the cold of the night so we put on jumpers and cept going. at the top the air was even more cold so i used ... read more

dahab day 1 yesterday me and dad went snorcling in the red sea and t was great we saw fish of all kinds and cool coral that was every where and lots of sea enenimies that waved about i n the sea. we mainly went snorcling near the light house however joseph and amy recomended eel gardens which was also quite cool but dangerous as to get to the coral in deep water you must swim around 500metres through 1 metre high water that had posinous sea urchents and black sea slugs so we couldn't stand up much or we might get posened. when we went snorcling the sun cream got washed off so the sun burnt our backs. dahab day 2 today was my favourite yet, we stayed in bed until 12 oclock and then ... read more

May 25th 2011

today we went to jerash! me and dad took a small bus to the ancient city of the roman era, it was one of the most important citys in the middle east and we really enjoyed it. when we got there we went down the roads and had a look at temples and theaters in one of them a man gave me really nice mint tea for free. the north theater was bigger than the south and was hard work getting up the steps in that boiling heat. during the look around in jerash i had the worst case of dioreah and had to go to the toilet 3 times (thanks mum for the tablets and wipes) dad thinks it was the ice cream i had at the dead sea as it might of been melted ... read more

yesterday me and dad went to amman on a plane, first we flew to cairo and then on to amman (i decided not to write a blog that day as all we did was travel). today me and dad went to the dead sea and it was amazing, plus we met this really nice man called lev that came from north america, lived in egypt and had a russian name! lev traveled with us to the dead sea and came with us to the different locations in a cab that we had hired with a driver for the day (the drivers name was mahamid and was also quite nice) and we shared the cost. at the dead sea we went into salty water and floated really well infact you didn't even have to kick you just ... read more

today me and dad visited two world famous mosques (blue mosque and aya sofya mosque/church) we both thought that the aya sofya was the best! after the mosques we decided to take a walk in the local park and have a small nap then we went back to the hostel for dinner and watch the liverpool last game of the season however we lost. whilst watching the game we ate lamb kebabs and met some really nice south africans (they supported man city = ). after dinner we took a long walk round the city but on the way back we went down some creepy dark allys and a wierd man followed us trying to sell us crappy old socks (100% cotton lol). ... read more

me and dad took a plane over to istanbul and played far cry on the way whilst snacking on crisps and chocolate ( i got the lions share = ) when we landed, dad and me walked to the bus stop and waited for ages until it got ready to go. when we got to the city we had a look around for the tram station (which we found eventually), instead of taking the tram we decided to get these amazing, spectaculas and wounderful fish sandwhiches that i loved and walked.after an hour or so we found a hostel (yay). then we went to a giant market called the bazzar and it was a complete let down said dad it was just like an ordinary shopping mall! so after the giant let down dad decided to ... read more
