Life in Korea Asia » South Korea » Busan
Website Well, I finally finished our website. This is where we'll be posting pictures. I hope you enjoy! http://www.jeren.worldbreak.com The Daily Rut Well, Jeremy is right. Our day to day lives aren't exactly the most exciting. I guess it all plays out the same every place in the world. My schedule is a bit more relaxed than his. I go into work every day at 12:45pm. First, I have my kindergarten class. Then I have a half an hour break and then from there on out it's all ages of elementary students until 7:30 with a one hour break somewhere in [View Full Entry]

Well, Jeremy has touched on most everything that's happened in our lives. The personal space thing is definitely taking some getting used to. Every where I go I get touched. Especially, at school. My kindergarten is out of control. They poke me everywhere and when I inquired about it to the staff, they told me that is a compliment and they like me. (Thanks for the help!) Teachers day was really nice. All the children's mothers brought in food and bought us presents. Some of them were rather generous, while others were interesting. Socks are a very popular choice. Jeremy received [View Full Entry]

So, the Japan trip. After almost missing my flight to Busan, I got a bit of paranoia in me and didn't sleep very well. I was awake well before the alarm went off and finally rolled out of bed at 4:45. I took a shower, put my bag over my shoulder, gave Jen a kiss, then headed out into the dark. There is nothing worse than getting up when it is still dark outside. I caught a cab to the Marriott, a bus to the airport, and a plane to Seoul. ALl pretty boring and standard stuff. I caught the plane [View Full Entry]

Busy! Asia » South Korea » Busan
Busy is the word so far. We are busy each second of each day, but once our laptop comes (Thanks Mom and Dad!) we will be able to post from home. Quick update though: This weekend was spent lounging around for the most part. On Saturday we went to a bar on a local beach with a couple of new Canadian friends. The weather wasn't great, but the company was! We then went to a bookstore and got some books (Angels and Demons is great!) and then on to Pizza Hut. I am dying here without my pizza, so sweet Jen [View Full Entry]

More Impressions Asia » South Korea » Busan
Almost Friday! It is 5:30 PM here and I just finished up. Jen has another 2 hours to go. I have a headache! The kids were wild today. Like the gym, there is no sense of personal space. We are poked and prodded all day long. Little girls cling to our legs as we try to walk. But they are sweet. Usually.....At any rate, the temple yesterday was amazing. It was truly a place of peace and beauty. A stream trickled down from the top of the mountain through what looked like the world's largest rock garden. We weren't wearing [View Full Entry]

End of the Day Asia » South Korea » Busan
eremy writing....Well it is the end of my second full day and I am tired! These kids are wild, but I feel like a bit of a rock star. Today I got on the kindy bus and the kids screamed my name like I was one of the Beatles in their prime. They mobbed me and grabbed my hands. Everywhere Jen goes people ask her if she is a movie star. And for the record, even though I feel like a rock star, I realize they are probably making fun of me-at least the teenagers we see in the streets. The [View Full Entry]

First Day Cont. Asia » South Korea » Busan
Well, Jeremy has already spoken about of first day back together. It was fun working together and the kids already love him. Tonight all the foreign teachers at the school and our directors are going to have a welcome dinner for him. It will be his first time trying Korean food. I'm really hoping to someday have him off of the Checkers, Sonic, Long John Silver's (ugghhh!!!), pizza diet he has done so well at maintaining. This weekend we will explore the city some together and will be posting some pictures so our friends and family can see where we're living. [View Full Entry]

Reunited (For Real)! Asia » South Korea » Busan
Jeremy writing.....My day did not begin well on Wednesday morning. On what was supposed to be such a great day of departure, my alarm failed to go off at 4:30 and I snapped awake at 6:46 AM. My flight was to leave at 7:59 AM and I live 30 minutes away from the airport. To boot, my car was not loaded up. I called my friend Lisa who was supposed to take me to the airport to tell her what happened. I decided to make a mad dash for it and I asked her if she could get my car at [View Full Entry]

So much to say and so little time to say it! Once we get settled we will try to be more diligent in writing, but the past two weeks have been a whirlwind! I have been finishing my job as an instructor and advisor at USF, finishing my school work in my master's program, finishing writing USF's SACS report (don't ask), packing my apartment up without a job, searching for a job, and missing Jen every second of every day. I did some other stuff, too, but I won't bore you. The bottom line is I got a job at Jen's [View Full Entry]

Waiting in Busan Asia » South Korea » Busan
Well, we finally got Jeremy a job. He will work at the same school and arrives this Thursday night, late. I am so excited. I miss everyone so much and can't wait to be with him again. The next three days will feel like a lifetime, but once he gets here it will all be worth it. I am so excited to do our apartment together and to explore the city together. This will all be quite the experience I'm sure. We'll keep all of you posted...... [View Full Entry]
