Happy New Year! Happy new year everyone! 2005. Now that all my payments are online I don't have to worry about writing "04" on my checks well into March. Merry Christmas and happy holidays! We hope everyone has a wonderful day! Jen had to work on Christmas day! Can you believe it? But we had a very special first Christmas together anyway. We watched the OC Christmukah episode as well as Christmas Vacation (jelly of the month? it's the gift that keeps giving the whole year!). We still have It's a Wonderful Life waiting in the wings. (Jen writing) Well, the weather in Tokyo is finally starting to get pretty cold. I was really enjoying the unusually warm winter that came as a result of so many typhoons this year. Jeremy and I decided to bare the cold and explore in Shinjuko and Sabuya. These are two of the trendiest spots in Tokyo. The city is currently lit up in preparation for Christmas and New Year's Day. ........So, big news from the States. My best friend Lisa is newly engaged and newly pregnant! Congrats to Lisa and Anthony! For those who don't know Leese, I met her when I started at USF. We were in the same grad program and worked right next door to one another. We bonded over the insanely delicious cafeteria food that USF serves and have been best buds ever since. She is already calling me "Uncle Jeremy," but I have proclaimed myself as unofficial godfather so I can go around doing my bad Brando impression. I can see Jen cringing now. Jen made chicken cordon bleu recently, and to the best of my memory I have never had that-not even at Wendy's. The first bite was great but when I looked inside it was really pink. Now like George Costanza, I have eaten food out of the garbage before (not as bad as it sounds-it was on top in aluminum foil-that's OK, right?), so a little pink wouldn't usually bother me, but I thought Jen would want to know, so I told her the chicken might need a little more cooking. Jeremy: We arrived back in Busan from Singapore around 8 AM and didn’t do much because of sheer exhaustion. One of our fellow teachers had been kind enough to offer up her apartment for us and she planned on staying with another teacher. Jen: We had dealt with a lot as we were preparing to say our final goodbye to Korea. Now, moving is always guaranteed to be a great time, but I can tell you for sure that nothing compares to an International Move. This in itself is more than enough to cover several journal entries, from carrying 6 huge boxes several blocks to the post office (where they speak no English) to the continuous episodes with our lame director. We are sitting in Japan at 11:20 PM, celebrating Thanksgiving . We are surrounded by ham, mashed potatoes, carrots, corn, salad, macaroni and cheese, and sponge cake. It is a gourmand's delight! Leaving Korea Part 2 Jeremy: Immediately after we put in our 30 days notice, we headed for the old Silla capital of Gyeongju. (Jen: Getting there was in itself quite an adventure.
