As you can all imagine, Disneyland was one hell of a day. I instantly kicked into control freak on speed mode and spent the rest of the day abusing people and ensuring we made all the good rides in our limited time there. Needless to say, we did. Now I'm not going to give you a blow by blow account of the day because I'm a busy man and train rides are only so long... So I'll give you the highlights and then a run down of each of the cool rides we went on. So the highlights of the day... Definitely mama trying to walk when we got off Space Mountain. Also concerning mama and slightly more worrying was the episode in which she tried and failed to take a photo as she was holding ... read more

I'm writing this on Thursday (yes I'm a terrible person, sue me) so it might be slightly inaccurate as my memory has never been my greatest asset. So there may or may not have been a whale on a 6-wheeled skateboard and the Pope may or may not have tried to sell us roofies. I apologise. We started the day by visiting the Opera House. This is a superb structure which is absolutely coated in marble. It's like the architect went to a marble factory (or wherever the hell you buy marble from and said "I would take all of it, but it's not enough. Get more." It's like a marble cake with marble on top. I cannot accurately stress how much marble there is in this place. The stage is magnificent, huge, and really pretty. ... read more

Monday was a cut above usual Mondays. I was in my element, as we spent the majority of the day touring art galleries. Happy James. But I'll describe that bridge when I come to it. Morning was routine; wake up, check emails, shower, French baguette and tea, Tom and Mama fighting over the iPad... The usual. We cleared up and buggered off to Montmartre. (There I spelled it right, for the little people who complained. That is not a grammar error. Little people were involved.) Montmartre is a superbly quaint bit of the city, the artisans quarter. Through it's history it has seen the likes of Dali', Picasso, Van Gough, Monet and loads of other magnificent people, and then we went to visit too. (Yes you are allowed to mime throwing up now.) The streets are ... read more

No seriously, Paris is very damp this morning. A nice slate grey sky. A nice break from the scorching ember that is Malta. All our politicians will be more than prepared for hell when they get there at least. And lawyers. Never forget the lawyers. (I love all my lawyer friends). First order of the day, after a gorgeously extravagant breakfast of French baguette and croissant, was mass at the Notre Dame. My parents and brothers queued for 15 minutes to enter. I took the door on the left and didn't. Anyway. We eventually all got in and had a look, and luckily for us a remembrance mass for 9/11 was about to start, so we were treated to a mass in the great cathedral, organ booming and all. It was rather epic. After mass we ... read more

After waking up suitably late and being even more suitably chastised for it, we stumbled out of the house and rode off into the sunset. Ok it wasn't that late, it was around 11 when we left. Got to the metro and held up a variety of unimpressed Parisians at the ticket machine as it seemed to be beyond my parents. Unamused Parisian was not amused. It worked eventually though. The Parisian metro is very barren, especially compared to the one in London (obviously). We arrived in the centre without any hitches, and walked to see the gran et petit palais. We went into the petit palais - there was a small design exhibition and a large art one. Naturally, Thomas and Peter hated it. There were some nice works though, saw a Rembrandt and a ... read more

Evening one in Paris, we were off to see the Latin quarter. Why the Latin Quarter you ask? Are you not in France? Yes that's what I thought, and I still don't get it. Something about scholars. According to Thomas the place was as dead as the language and I couldn't agree more. On our way there we stopped to see the fabled cathedral of Notre Dame. Everyone's initial reaction was "it looked bigger in Van Helsing." It was rather pretty though. Beautiful carvings and stuff. And a weird Spanish guy singing terribly in the background. Welcome to France. Latin Quarter next, u milli jidher hadna dawra papali. Even so, after much aimless wandering (and in depth wondering about what in fact we were supposed to be doing) we heard an earth shattering growl... It was ... read more

Friends, family, and pets. Good afternoon. It has been drawn to my attention that some of you are interested in our whereabouts and the highlights and catastrophes that befall us on our trip. Why you want to hear from me when you all have a week's break is miles beyond me, but I shall comply despite my total lack of comprehension. Being the techo-geek that I am, it has occurred to me that the best way to keep everyone updated is through a blog like so. This has been done before and apparently turned out to be successful, so I shall repeat the procedure. Now for the trip... We started off as is traditional... Wake up at ungodly hour of the morning, finish packing 20 minutes before leaving (just me), locate missing underwear (me too), fail ... read more

Today, according to my family, we went to hemm, there. We went to Queenscliff and Sorrento. Or so I'm told. I have a rather crap memory, as you may or may not know. It was nice and pretty and stuff... xD So we went to Sorrento and caught a ferry to Queenscliff, on the other side of the peninsula. We walked around a bit, then decided we were starving and went to eat in this neat old-fasioned hotel restaurant thingy. The food was really good, but really expensive, and really really small. I mean honestly, it must have been a restaurant for pygmies. I wouldn't feed rabbits the portions thay gave us! Cheapskate scrooges. Pft. But at least it was really good. So that kinda made up for it. After that we went to the playground! ... read more

So today, as you may have possibly deduced, we went on a picnic. :D With the family. Bunch of rejects. Kidding they're all really faqa :D :D :D :D. So mass first, then off to the botanical gardens to eat and be merry and be one with nature under the beauty of the trees. And crap. It was nice insomma. Yay, bla bla bla. :P I could write a long and beautiful passage about how we all felt at one with nature and describe all the wonderous sights we saw, but I really couldn't be damned and I want to finish Day 11. Eventually. So I'll see you around :). Have fun, and when you're bored, try having a picnic, it helps. :) James.... read more

Back again :D Ok, so here we are in Melbourne! We're staying in a suburb city called... Dingley! No seriously, t's called Dingley. We're staying with our dearest Uncle Tony and his daughter Carol, it's really nice over here. The city is less busy then Sydney, and Mama and Papa prefer it, but it think there's more life in Sydney personally. So on our first day we went up to a village in the nearby mountain range. Don't ask me what it's called, I haven't the foggiest. Honestly, not a clue, was nice though. :) Lots of cute little shops. After visiting most of the cute little shops, we went to eat at a place called Pie in the Sky, which had rather good pies, in spite of the weird-ass name. After the pies were promptly ... read more
