It's my last day in Gili Trawangan. My last day in Paradise, Christmas Day. I leave this island for down under in a short time and can't remember the last time i was this passionate about a place. This island. These people. The wonderful relationships i have made in this short time that i have been traveling. It is the most freeing experience i have ever had in the whole of my life. I feel as if i could just float away and disappear on an island in the sea and stay forever. I feel much sorrow having to leave such [View Full Entry]

9 more days Asia » Indonesia » Bali » Kuta
Well im in Bali and i haven't done a damn thing. I sleep as late as i want, wake to go get food, sit on the beach, and watch a handful of movies. I watched 4 movies the other day back to back to back. Any Given Sunday, Oliver Stone, Cameron Diaz, James Woods, Dennis Quaid, Jamie Foxx, etc. etc. What a great film. Thank you for Smoking with Aaron Eckhart. Really really good. Aaron Eckhart was nominated for a Golden Globe for it this week. Also 16 Blocks with Bruce Willis and Mos Def. And one of my holiday favorites, [View Full Entry]

Just got to Bali tonight. Flew in from Singapore. Found a cheap place for $4 dollars a night. No pics yet, but many to come. My passport is starting to look like im actually doing something. All of you out there here my words with your brain, and your head, and your mind: TRAVEL. Spend 2 months of your life going places. You will learn more in those 2 months than any in your life. You will make contacts for the future that you never would have if you stayed home. It's very easy. Detach yourself from your busy routine, save [View Full Entry]

Kuala Lumpur Asia » Malaysia » Wilayah Persekutuan » Kuala Lumpur
I took a flight from Langkawi on the 10th of December to Kuala Lumpur eager to see another metropolis for the first time since Bangkok. It is much cleaner than Bangkok and doesn't have that "nasty" Bangkok vibe. If your reading this and you have been, you know what i mean. KL is a gorgeous city with much to offer. Tons of shopping which i could care less about, but it is neat to walk around the huge mega-malls and see all the shops. It's not much cheaper than back home. The highlight, for me the skyscraper nerd/junkie was seeing the [View Full Entry]

I hadn't been to a proper beach in over a month since i left Ko Phangan. I didn't know if i would ever find another nice beach again after being spoiled by Koh Phi Phi. Well I get to Langkawi and finally meet an equal to the previous paradise. I stayed at the Shirin Guesthouse. It was owned and operated by a Japanese woman ( Hiroko) and her Iranian husband ( Abraham). Hiroko was the sweetest, most gentle woman i have met in all my travels. She was like a mother. Going above and beyond to make sure everything we needed [View Full Entry]

Koh Lanta Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Ko Lanta
Moved my way south to Koh Lanta on my way to Bali ultimately. I have to make my way about 1400 miles by December the 28th for my flight headed to Melbourne Australia. Koh Lanta was friendly and i met nice people, but again it was full of couples and very quiet otherwise. I had just left my best mates in Laos and was feeling a bit lonely not having great friends around. I wasn't quite ready to be alone yet. I took it for granted while in Koh Lanta but i still had a great time. Rented motor bikes and [View Full Entry]

Railay Asia » Thailand » South-West Thailand » Railay
Well, grabbed my flight out of Bangkok into Krabi then took a taxi to Ao Nang and a longtail boat over to Railay Beach. Arrived late and grabbed the first guest house I could find. Stayed in Railay Beach for a few days but it was all couples and adults with kids. It was the most alone i felt on the trip. I don't think i spoke to a single person the 2-3 days that i was there. But the beach was beautiful and I got some great pics so it's okay. [View Full Entry]

Oh boy it's my third time in Bangkok in just over a month. Was not looking forward to it as Little Baby Dave and I rolled into town from the overnight train from Vientianne. I don't mind Bangkok, it's a fascinating city, but it's just so full on all the time. It's a place where you feel like you can't get away from the hustle and bustel of the street and just find peace and quiet. It is one of the most remarkable places i have ever been to in my life. The street scene never stops. People are continously going [View Full Entry]

Unfortunatly I only have two photos of Vientianne. Little Baby Dave and I just couldn't be asked to sight see after the 10 days in the Laos. We just wanted to get a train back to Bangkok and get down to the beach. We stayed in Vientianne for one night and a day and took the next over night train train 12 hours to Bangkok.
