I am in belgium since saturday 5th. It was really a relief to arrive in lovely weather and beautifull city after a sweltring 42 deg and terrible Delhi. Of to Paris i went on Sunday taking Talis .It was my first experience on a european train and it is wonderfull.At 300 KM an hour and amazingly beautifull senery around i really enjoyed the trip. Coming out of central paris station was just a anticlimax , there were peoples begging and the area was so dirty.I took hop on hop off bus pass and it was great experience. Paris is also one of the must visit destination, It was election day and peoples were gathering in the central square. We planned to start at 6AM for Agra but actually started at 10 AM .Though it was Saturday but traffic was still very heavy. All sort of vehicles were on Road right from Bullock carts to people riding on Elephants , My younger daughter was very thrilled to see all this and kept popping up lot of questions. It took us almost 3 hours to reach at Mathura. Which in itself is a very famous city because of birth place of Lord Krishna. We stopped in front of Mathura refinery , there were good way side restaurant . From there it took us another two hours. I was told that Sarojini nagar market , Delhi Haat , Janpath are few markets where you can buy good stuff ,only thing you require is barganing power. You should not be affraid to offer around 40% of what you have been told.If you look like foreigners just offer 10 to 15% only because the prices they will be asking for are so much raised. I adheard to this advice and was very happy to get good stuff at prices i considered to be cheap but when i returned home i was told that i have been cheated and could have bought same stuff for almost half of what i paid for. Sec 18 of Noida is main market area, there is a old market where you can find almost all cheap fashion clothes ,imitating originals and also house hold goods. While adjoing area known as sec18 has big showrooms - showing their latest products , recently a place called Center Mall has also been added , it has got multiplex theaters and many top range shops.It also has nice dining restaurents. ... read more
I am planning to travel to Darjeeling by train from Delhi , I love train journeys , Specially in Indian trains .Only thing one should make sure is plan in advance and book tickets. One can book up to 60 days in advance . I will be writing more about this journey . ... read more
Today I joined the travel blog , i was planning my trip to Darjeeling and while searching for information on the net i found this wonderful site.I will be sharing here my traveling experiences and would love to hear from travelers about their experiences. I am starting from Noida which is now part of Delhi; it is supposed to be a modern city with lot of multinational companies coming here to set up their offices. But as like all other cities in India this also is full off traffic problems, cleanliness .there are big shopping malls coming up here , metro will also be ready before commonwealth games. ... read more
