Hello! wow, I can't believe how behind we are on our blog! We are well, managing to keep up with Wimbledon at the mo and the Lions. We've just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. But first we started in crazy Bangkok... Arrived after a fantastic flight with Thai Airways, borderline acceptable plane food and some awesome movies, to find that Jens bag hadnt made the flight (some part of Jen is always late) and we had to stick around Bangkok for a coupla days until it came on the next flight. BK is a crazy place, insanely busy and very overwhelming. We spent about 5 days there and did the usual tourist stuff; checked out some temples and Wats, shopped on the touristy Kho San Road and got driven around by the crazy tuk-tuks ... read more

Hey everybody! Once again we have skipped continents and we are now in Thailand!!! After leaving Byron Bay in OZ after a very short time we travelled further up the coast to Brisbane. Luckily we met a couple of aussies on our travels and we spent our first night with Jo and Aaron just outside Brisse. Due to our poor planning we realised we had just 4 nights to go to the gold coast, surfers paradise, fraser island and the whitsundays, so we got some awesome travel advice from Jo and other ppl and decided we most wanted to go to Fraser Island, the largest island in the world made up of only sand (obviously with trees and other stuff on top). Most ppl rent out 4w4s and spend 3 days driving all over the island ... read more

So yet again we're going to attempt to blog more regularly! As we are making a joint effort to get up to date on our photos and blog I thought I might give you a brief update :) Sorry if we're not been in touch for a while family, just to give u an idea it's now 12.30pm and its 3.29am where u are! We arrived on Fri 7th into Sydney and after making friends with a load of crazy Aussies in South America we're lucky enough to be able to stay with locals all over the place! At the mo, we're staying with Corinne and her cool bf Ben who we just met. They have a really nice pad in a Sydney suburb a short train ride away - its quicker than going upminster to ... read more

Hey Everyone!! Sorry it’s been so long since we've posted but its been a hectic time. We have now finished our tour of South America and arrived in Buenos Aries a couple of days ago. More about that later but first I'll pick up where we left off, in Puno, Peru... After an awesome home stay and a great drunken night of fun in Puno we began the drive into Bolivia to La Paz. The border crossing took forever...well almost...and we had to get off the truck and fill in forms, get our passports stamped, go through immigration and then do the same on the other side. All in all it probably took about 2.5hours but there were no problems and we continued into Bolivia. It seemed pretty much the same as Peru although the roads ... read more

Hey Everybody!!! Sorry its been so long but we have been real busy and most of our hotels dont have the Internet. I think last time we posted we had just joined our tour group in Lima, currently we are in Puno, a small port near Lake Titicaca on the Peru/Bolivia border, and tomorrow we are crossing over, so I will fill you in with what we have been up to over the last two weeks or so. From Lima we travelled south to Pisco, which was hit by an earthquake in 2007 that levelled 85% of the town and killed over 500 people. After many queries out tour guide said they always try to go back to support the local economy. We were all in agreement and determined to have a good time, until there ... read more

South America » Peru » Lima » Lima » Miraflores March 20th 2009

Hey guys, welcome to our first travel blog from Peru! We left Heathrow on Fri 20th at 7.30am, customs and security went fine and after a quick coffee and emotional farewell with Mum and Dad we were on our way. We flew to Madrid to make our connecting flight to Lima,Peru. We had fun trying to remember what the currency was after queing at a cafe to find out they didnt take card or US dollars! We finally found a cashpoint and spent our hard saved money on some soggy croque monsieurs! After making our way to the gate we found our flight was delayed by aroud 2hrs (great) we spent lots of time on the phone with our bank who had managed to cancel one of our cards with our spending money on. The bank ... read more
