the 8 of us have been informed this morning that there will be no trip. all of us (the travelers),wanted to go, but the school says no. jon, our teacher, i know, feels terrible. this is a great loss for Peredinya university and all the professors who had the next three weeks scheduled for us. i know the school has our best interests at heart, but i can't help but be sad. yesterday i finally finished all my shopping. seeing as how i have everything i need, i.e. travelers checks, packed luggage, loose fitting clothing, already put together, and a travelblog account set up i feel as though i should go somewhere else. hmmmmm???? any suggestions? any one who is up for a little adventure?... read more

I am leaving for Sri Lanka in eight weeks. I went to get my new passport today and have spent most of the morning explaining to my Mom how completely safe this trip will be, but of course I tell her that about every hare-brained idea I have. I can't wait to leave.... read more
