The most common phrase running through my head the past couple of days has been I am so blessed How could I not think this when travelling beneath the most stunning mountain views in the very northern most corner of Slovenia when traveling along hillside after hillside of gorgeous wine country and when randomly meeting some of my favorite old friends here in Ljubljana who I otherwise had no http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-317090.html Back in Lj... Hello EveryoneWell I'm far away from the familiar yet again and I have to say it feels GREAT Being back in Ljubljana even just for one rainy day I feel like my soul has been revived and is ready to take on the world yet again don't worry mom I won't just yet... I had a fantastic but long journey to get here. In Vancouver I met a wonderful woman named Billie a singer songwriter photo http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-315430.html Croatian Coast Road Trip... Ever wonder where Western Europeans go on holidays to get away from the flocks of North American tourists that descend upon them each summer Enter the small yet stunningly beautiful eastern European nation of Croatia. Complete with towering mountains that look out over phenomenal beaches and a gorgeous islanddotted coastline historical and cultural cities not yet totally overrun by highend http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Croatia/blog-155778.html A fairy tale called Bohinj... There's nothing like escaping reality for a day... Today me and my flatmate took off for a day trip to the beautiful Triglav National Park in the northwest of Slovenia. Triglav is home to 2 amazing lakes Bled which I visited at the beginning of my trip and Bohinj which we visited today as well as Slovenia's highest peak largest waterfall and best adventure sports resorts and vacation s http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/blog-149014.html Point of personal privelege Can I go back to Geneva Hello all I've just returned from a week long stint in Geneva Switzerland that was just a fantastic learning opportunity and a great getaway as well My journey began with a fairly uneventful 14 hour train ride. Let me tell you 14 hours on a train is FAR too long. But it was cheaper than taking a plane even with discount airlines so I survived. That and if I were to have lost luggage at leas http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Switzerland/South-West/Geneva/blog-144117.html Whole month of Pictures Ok I've been terrible at updating this thing. But really I havn't done any travelling now that school has set in. Really about the most interesting thing in my life right now is trying to decide between eggs and cereal in the morningAnyway here are some pictures I've failed to post in the last month and some explainations to go with them... enjoyLove you allMel. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-139140.html Un petit bout de Carnaval... ZivijoToday I decided to go out into Ljubljana to rediscover my love for the city after being so entrenched in exams and then my little oops of a trip to London. And I found it wasn't so hard to do. I must say Ljubljana is so charming that it is impossible not to fall in love with. The trafficquiet streets that let you hear your own footsteps on ancient cobblestone roads. Cafe's filled http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-124112.html Why would you go to London if you don't like big cities Hey EveryoneSo I've had definitly my worst travel experience yet. I took off on January 25th for what was supposed to be amazing 12 day travel and vacation experience in London and Scotland. I had high hopes but definitly was a little nervous before I left and for good reason I would soon find out. London most definitly is one of the hardest of hard cities to be a tourist in. Especially http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/blog-123653.html Slovenia rhymes with Party. Well what can I say but I had the best New Years I think of my life. After the incredible day snowboarding I came home to a huge dinner prepared by all the girls i felt a little bad having snowboarded all day with the boys while the other girls cooked... but not TOO bad haha and 12 of us again sat around the makeshift table in mine and my roommates room. After gorging ourselves and cleani http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-115945.html Vesel Bosic in Srecno Novo Leto Merry Christmas and Happy New Year EveryoneWell it has been an exciting 8 days. I left Ljubljana early on the 23rd for Italy to join my Zia Marlene and Zio Luigi for a wonderful Christmas is Genoa Five uneventful hours on a train and an additional four by car we arrived to a beatiful sunny 15 degree Mediterranean Coast that was absolutely refreshing after 2 months of fog in Ljubljana S http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Italy/Liguria/Genoa/blog-114776.html Another Random Photo's Entry Hey everyoneJust a few random photo's I thought I would share.Merry Christmas and all my loveMel. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-110297.html Tis the season Seasons Greeting everyoneWell Christmas is nearly upon us so I'm sure many of you back home are knee deep in reciepts and wrapping paper. Here in Ljubljana while the commercial aspect of Christmas is slowly creeping in I'm glad to say that Christmas here seems to be about something much different than overwrapped yet pretty boxes under a plasic tree and a good selfstuffing of turkey with t http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-108094.html What I have tried to live by... It has been about a week I think since my last entry and will probably be a few weeks before the next one. School has set in yes mom and aunty Nancy I AM studying... along with swing dance classes yoga and vollunteering at an asylum seekers shelter and this doesn't leave much time nor have I left so much money for travelling and partying. Its amazing the way our calm little house of women can sometimes explode into beautiful laughter when something like that gets said I don't think I've talked much about my roommates so here goes...There is my actual roommate Ira. She is from the northern Slovenian town of Maribor where she goes home to every weekend to work and sp http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovenia/Upper-Carniola/Ljubljana/blog-99836.html The small palaces arn't overrun by terrorists... Today JC and I took a day trip from Vienna to Bratislava Slovakia.
