30 de mai. We visited Saint Emilion. It is one of the most famous wine regions, as well as a historic town. We took a tour of the city. The tour went through the underground catacombs. They are kept "private" - only tours can visit the underground caves and photos are not permitted. The caves were used in the 11th and 12 centuries... Saint Emilion is famous for its red wines. There were vineyards as far as one could see. At the end of each row of vines there are roses planted. The roses contract the same diseases as the vines.
