Famous Table I have bragged more than once about sitting at that very table back in 2007, made famous by the world's best movie, "Vacation," or "National Lampoon's Vacation," as some prefer to call it. (Actually, the world's best movie is "After Hours," followed closely by "Kentucky Fried Movie," but I'm hoping that by sucking up to Holiday Road, I might win the contest.)
Faithful Sidekick Good to have you back on the road Holiday! Keep cleaning those plates and catching many fish. Keep us informed on the rest of this year's adventure!
10 gal Visible Gas Pump in front of store I stopped by your place on Friday November 8th to speak to you. I inquired about the visible gas pump in front of your store. Do you have a phone number where I can call you? I'm interested in possibly buying your gas pump. Thanks. Please call me or send an email with your phone #. I sent a letter to you, but no reply.

your recent blog Great to see you out and traveling again Holiday. I feel the same about Silverton. The first 15-20 times I went there it was exciting but now I just look at the mountains above it and barely notice the town. I also agree that the concept of the two story outhouse is intriguing. I can't wait for your next entry and the story of the rest of your summer trip.
Freebie I sure hope you talked those people into giving you a hands-on tutorial in sign making, and then you keeping the sign that they just helped you make. The only tough part would be deciding what would go on the sign. Maybe it could say, "Ignore this sign," and you could post it in front of your house.
Precious Moments Life is short. I'm glad to see you fill yours with meaningful moments. Few things in life are as precious as a toilet seat museum, but I have no doubt you'll share with us those few things that are. Looking forward to it. Keep 'em coming.
Awesome! As always Holiday, you give such a memorable and sophisticated approach on travel ideas. I can't wait for my summer vacation so I can work in this great American treasure trove of such fine examples of something that may seem so trivial that is really an iconic item woven into the very fiber of all our lives. Keep up the great discoveries!
Thanks for the photos of Kamp Komfort I had no idea that this was in fact an actual location! Many thanks for the photos, reminiscent of light and happy times in the best "Vacation" movie made. I've just got to take my family here one day.
No trout stories? While as always I am astonished by Holiday's wonderful grasp of travel reporting, I am shocked that he did not mention his famous exploits as the well known and loved "Troutmaster" of southwestern Colorado. I await his tales of days on the streams and lakes of God's country on the headwaters of the mighty Rio Grande.
Holiday Road's BBQ Results Revealed! After investigating, I have discovered that Holiday Road selected his #1 BBQ joint as Snow's BBQ in Lexington, Texas. Lockhart was just to send us on a wild goose chase and throw us off his scent.
Getting pretty artsy Hello "Holiday";
You are turning into quite an established travel blog writer! Your beard is grown a lot since I saw you last. Keep up the good work.
yes Yes, the answer is vacation. The answer is always vacation. The answer will always be vacation. I could print a 8 by 10 of the sunset at the cabin, but I don't understand why anyone would rather have that than a cigar.
