I dont know what to say as they have rendered me speechless. You decide their purpose. Wish I could have gone on a tour.
Traveled to Lockhart State Park for spring break 2012. Stayed 3 nights. It was very quiet as the park only has 20 campsites. It also has a golf course. County prisoners are utilized to keep the grounds tidy. Two or three will ride around in a golf cart with a Park Peace Officer. I watched as an Officer attempted to open a car that had the keys locked in it. The prisoners were sitting in the golf c

Spring Break 2011. Big plans. Taking my mother and two of her friends on a trip. We stopped at San Felipe or San Phillip as the volunteer called it. I must say not much to see there. There is a 175th Anniversary Passport that you take to various Hysterical attractions and have it stamped. San Felipe was included in the booklet but not on the booklet map. Some one went to the trouble of inking

We arrived at Chaco Canyon in early July. My goals were to see some Native American graffiti and get my 3rd. Jr. Ranger badge. I set up camp and went to the visitors center to pick up the necessary paperwork. Went to the truck and made up some answers. Took the booklet back in and presented my answers. That is when I got the bad news Holiday we are out of Junior Ranger badges. It was a

Showed up at Mesa Verde on July 3rd. Not a good visit. Dual total battery failures on the RV during the night. That sent me to Cortez on the 4th of July looking for batteries. There is only one place in Cortes to purchase deep cycle batteries on the 4th. WalMart. I was attempting to have a WalMart free vacation. Other than the battery purchase I did have a WalMart free trip. The lesson here i

Summer school is out and Holidayroad is on the move. Some have said that I am the alter ego of a certain individual who will remain anonymous. Truth be told he is the alter ego. Spent some time at Petrified Forest National Park. Got my first Junior Ranger Badge Patch Certificate. The girl that swore me in said that she had never done it before and that I was her first. I refrain

Anyway I found this travel blog from this past summer. And you will never guess where it was. It had slipped between the frontal lobe and the parietal lobe and was resting on the temporal lobe. Imagine that. Just when you thought it was safe to check your email. It was Jul

We decided to go back to the free Road Canyon site. After setting up camp there we drove into Creede to wash clothes.
We spent 10 nights at 30 Mile Campground July 7th thru July 16th. Caught a lot of fish had a fire every night and frost most mornings. Saw a good variety of wildlife. The cow Moose and her calf came through the campground often. We had friends and or family with us most of that time. Day trips included Lake City and a trip to Big Blue. We enjoyed it as did the dogs but it passed me by like a

On July 5th we departed Mesa Verde after a five night stay. Getting the truck and trailer over Wolf Creek Pass was a bit of a chore. I had to accept the fact that there will be times when the transmission will remain in first gear. The trick was to put it in first gear keep the RPM between 2 and 3 thousand and take it easy. We arrived at the Road Canyon Campground at a reasonable time and had cam

On July 4th we went to the amphitheatre and watched some people from Arizona dance. The little guy is 4 years old. He has made great strides in his dancing abilities. Last year he took about a half dozen steps then laid down on a rock and went to sleep. It looks like the girl on the right closed here eyes just as I took the photo but she is really in a dance induced trance. Notice the Tribal Elde

Four weeks in the Outback and we didnt even leave the U.S. The Outback we were in is our travel trailer so if you wanted to hear about Australia you are at the wrong blog. As I had little internet access during our trip my blogs will have a delay. Radio often uses a 7 second delay. Halftime Superbowl does not. Mine will be more like 3 weeks. I once h

On March the 19th. we stopped at Fincks Cigar Factory Outlet. It is a house that has been converted into one big cigar humidor. It is located just off of loop 410 North a bit East of I10. This place is a must see if you are in the area and like cigars. The giant humidifiers pump moisture into the air as need. Those along with the AC unit keep the entire interior at 70 deg. Fahrenheit 7
