WE had lunch outside by the river at the Welcome Center. There were some pretty cool statues inside the BB King Elvis Presley Welcome center the kids thought it was neat. I threatened the boys within an inch of their lives when I read the sign that said Don't Touch Alarm Protected That's liike http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Tennessee/Memphis/blog-414277.html There's always got to be a pretty boring day in the car right Well this was ours. We decided not to do St. Louis as a stop along the way since we spent a day at Yellowstone. Little did I know that you have to go through St. Louis to get to Memphis but oh well We got up this morning and we headed out after another complimentary hot breakfast in the hotel. We have been pretty spoiled with nice hotels so far. We aren't staying in luxury 5star bu http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Missouri/St-Louis/blog-413973.html Wild Bill and the Four Presidents Well we have seen a lot today We got up this morning and we headed toward Keystone SD. Along the way we decided to stop at the city of Deadwood. The whole city is a historic landmark. It's the town where Wild Bill Hickok was killed in Saloon 10. Today I did something I never thought I'd hear myself say. I took my kids to a bar It's not QUITE as bad as it sounds but it's close They do a r http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/South-Dakota/Black-Hills-National-Forest/blog-413568.html God is AMAZING When I spend a day somewhere like Yellowstone I have to wonder how ANYONE can question that there is a god. That place is amazing I never imagined what it would be like. There aren't enough pictures in the world to make anyone really grasp the beauty that it Yellowstone but I sure tried We left Idaho Falls yesterday morning as early as we could but not insanely early and headed to Yel http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Montana/West-Yellowstone/blog-413371.html Back on the Road Well we are at the Hampton Inn in Idaho Falls tonight. We stopped to eat dinner and decided we could not drive any further. It's amazing the amount of energy we have had when we were doing all that family stuff. It's like we are coming down off an incredible high well we kinda areWe just decided that it would be a good idea to come on to a hotel chill out and go to bed early so that we can http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/Idaho-Falls/blog-412976.html Leaving Idaho We had an incredible time again last night Another scene in my Truman Show we went for a walk which was WAY different than any I have ever walked but ANYWAY. We saw two Hidden Lakes and we ended up seeing 2 cliff jumpers I will have more time in a bit to go into detail about that amazing day but for now it's off to Aunt Maida's for goodbyes and the last of the 100000 calories we've e http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/blog-412852.html Happy Birthday to Marlee and Shelly So today my sweet niece turned 4 We were at another AMAZING breakfast and I was telling the family that was there that I really wanted to hear them sing. They all insisted that they couldn't sing Well when I told them that today is Marlee's birthday they agreed to call her and sing Happy Birthday. Well since tomorrow is Shelly's bday they sang to her too and then they were on a roll s http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/blog-412616.html I've decided we're in a movie Have you seen the movie The Truman Show I have decided that is what is going on here. It seems impossible that things are really as they seem The day we went to Shoshone Falls the falls were at full capacity which means they were as beautiful as they could get The weather here has been rainier than it has ever been but it has been perfect since we got here Yesterday we went to eat at Norm http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/blog-412526.html MY Blog Hey you guysit's Jo. I'm sooo glad we made it It's sooo awesome here There are a little bit of cousins right now compared to how many there really are. The first 2 I met were Aunt Illeta just how it sounds and Easton Weston he hasn't talked to me much yet but I still love him. He's only 2 and a half. Aunt Rhonda took me to the store and the cashier just stared at me They have a little teth http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/blog-411897.html Amazing family Every time I think I won't be surprised anymore I am surprised again. First of all I realized that I left off something about the food in the last entry which was kind of important because of the title. When we were at Dierke's Lake Cassia Mona's daughter came up with HOMEMADE Bear Claws They actually were some sort of donut twist covered in this amazing icing and they were STILL WARM http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/blog-412198.html HOMEMADE BEAR CLAWS Wow I think I can write a whole blog dedicated to the FOOD so far We got to Liz's house this morning. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS From her back patio you can see for MILES Aunt Maida insisted that we have a southern breakfast today. Even though she is in the hospital she had Ileta stop by so she could give her step by step instructions for making grits the way Grandma Hinson used to make I've http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/blog-411993.html We made it We made itI didn't have internet in the car as I had hoped but I am going to catch you up now. I couldn't sleep Sunday night so I sent Marlowe to bed around 1030 while I stayed up doing all the things that I have to do before leaving on vacation. About 330 am I woke him up we loaded up the kids got coffee and headed out around 420. We are using a clamshell luggage carrier on the top of http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Idaho/blog-411741.html Almost time to go It's almost time to go I still don't quite understand how this is all going to work but if nothing else I'll have a journal of our trip. Hopefully I will be communicating with friends as we go Our original plan was to leave about 7 am. However I made a few adjustments to our schedule since I NEVER sleep the night before vacation and Marlowe is counting on me to drive at some point.
