Hi Our last day in Foz. We woke up and headed to a really nice bird park. They have a lot of different species of birds and stuff, everything from butterflies to eagles. They are in big bird houses, and some of them you can even enter and walk among the birds. Parrots in all colours and sizes, really curious and funny (and for some, a little scary). It took all of Rosa's courage to enter the macaw house, those very intelligent parrots are great entertainment! One even managed to sneak up behind Rosa and scare her (see photos). Hi everybody! So, day two at Foz. We headed for the national park early in the morning. Located on the Brazil/Argentina border, Iguazu Falls are considered to be the second largest in the world, only Victoria Falls are bigger. Most of the waterfalls are placed on the Argentinan side, but From the Brazilian side the view is supposed to be better. Anyways, with my precious "single entry" working visa, we decided not to go to the Argentinan side. Hi! Last weekend was a three-day weekend here, so we decided to go to Foz do Iguacu, on the tri-border area between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. We took a night bus on Friday evening to get there, and on Monday evening back, giving us nearly three days there. Hi I finally managed to figure out how to upload videos to the blog. These two videos are from the first trip to Florianópolis, one from the sunny Saturday, and the other from the not-so-sunny Sunday. Jóna Björg, Rosa's friend, is visiting us now, and we went again to Floripa last weekend. I came home on Sunday night, but the girls are still there and will be back on Thursday. We had decided to go to Santa Catarina Island for the weekend. It features some fantastic things; the state capital, Florianópolis, a lot of beaches, a really beautiful lagoon plus great nature. In the summertime (winter in Europe) it is full tourists from all over South America, and it is quite popular on other parts of the year too. I take the card and dial his number, but then there just comes some voice talking portugeese and then blibblibb and it hangs up. Hi I am sitting on the balcony in a lot of heat and sunshine. I bought sunscreen no. 50 and am using it. Yesterday we went on the beach and it was great, besides how much I burned. But it looks a lot better today than yesterday. The beach trip was a whole lot of adventure. We went to Sao Francisco do Sul and on the Praia Enseada beach. Look it up on Google Earth if you want. The status is now that I have just arrived to Joinville through Sao Paulo two hours ago and am trying out the internet connection in the apartment.
