Hi Everyone!! Well it has been about a week since the last time I wrote. Pato and I ended up staying in Cartagena, Colombia for 5 days and then we made the crazy journey to Ecuador. The time in Cartagena was a wonderful opportunity to catch up on some relaxation and eatting what we wanted to eat. So... it seems that I am a little behind in my journal entries, hopefully I can catch up a little bit in the next few days. Panama was full of excitment, first we went to Boca de Toros (which is in northern Panama and one of the principle tourist destinations). Boca is a group of islands, that are known for their good surfing and clear waters. We quickly made our way from Costa Rica to Panama. Sorry for the lack of writting, internet access has been few and far between (and expensive). After leaving Nicaragua, we traveled to Tortuguero, Costa Rica which is an island where you are supposed to be able to see turtles and was supposed to be the best jungle in Central America. Well, I guess we just hit it the wronge time of the year because we did not have the same luck as that described by the Lonely Planet. After passing a full day in Tegusigalpa and not finding much to do, we decided that we should make our way to Nicaragua, therefore we would have additional time to do cool stuff... when we find it. From Tegusigalpa we took a bus to Cholutecha and then continued on the same bus to San Marcos de Colon. It has been a long time since the last time I wrote and there have been several days of crazy adventures and Mayan Ruins. From Belize we traveled back to Guatemala... to Flores, which is an island on a lake in Northern Guatemala. The main reason people go to Flores is to visit the famous Mayan Ruins, Tikal, although the little town is nice (but expensive). hi everyone who is interested to enough to hear about our wild adventures. Well we have spent the past few days in Belize. We took a rocky boat ride from Livingston, Guatemala across the open ocean to Puerto Gorda in Southern Belize. It was a really rocky boat ride in a very small boat without any life preservers... but no worries we made it across safely. From Puerto Gorda, which was a really boring city and we were there for only a short time we took a school bus, which was painted with red and green stripes, to Placencia, Belize. Hola Patojos (little kids in guatemalan)!!! Pato and I have made our way to Belize. Rio Dulce turned out to be kind of a laid back place and we quickly got on our way to Livingston, which is highly dominated by black people who were brought over as slaves and then have dominated the area. It is a really cute town and the boat trip that takes you there from Rio Dulce is even better. It was full of lush green forest/ jungle with small towns of people. AMAZING!! hi everyone!! This is hannah and pato´s blog of our trip through latin america. the journey officially began today. after two days in guatemala city it was time to leave.
