packing up the kids, bring the dog and heading north on a trip around australia.
untill the caravan of courage returns home.
Spent a couple of days in Katherine. Lovely place but I think it’s the hottest place in Australia. The hot springs where next to the caravan park so we spent a lot of time down there. It was crystal blue water and it wasn’t too hot so it was nice and refreshing. We all took a breakfast boat cruise out along the Katherine Gorge, as it was cooler in the morning. It was absolutely amazing, well worth the trip out.

The road out is only one lane, so it’s go slow and watch for road trains. We arrived at our scheduled stop and found the iconic windmill was in some need of repairs and had an ear piercing screech. Executive decision was made and we push on to Heartbreak Hotel Caravan Park. The next morning we headed out to King Ash Bay it was about 100km the last 20km (we were told) was dirt road with corrugation. So no major problems we just had a flat battery. Stayed at the Barkley for one night and just had a bit of time out. Mick got to watch some football, Emerson got to have a swim in the pool and I got to do some reorganising of the caravan. We’re all ready to head of tomorrow.

The day was great until night fell. The winds picked up and Mick went out a few times through the night to make sure nothing was flying away. Then about 3:00am it was all hands on deck to pack everything that was outside away. We didn’t get much sleep. We woke up in the morning to find we had no power, which meant no water pump which meant no water. So we finished the pack up and headed to the Barkley Homestead about 2 ½ hours away. Hopefully just a flat battery.
