Traveling through Europe and South America for a few months commencing November, 2011

EUROPE: Greece, Italy, France, Monaco, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, England, Scotland, Spain
SOUTH AMERICA: Colombia, Peru, Argentina
I fled Colombia and made my way to Buenos Aires, Argentina! I had a 12 hour stop over in Sao Paulo before finally landing in Buenos Aires late at night. I made my way through the airport customs and onto a night bus which conveniently dropped me off at my hostel. Although it was about 11pm at night the temperature was hot and sticky. I checked in my bags, had a cold shower and then headed out to eat one of Argentinas most famous dishes - STEAK! The steak came out on a huge seperate silver plate and I had to carve the meat off onto my own eating plate. Accompanied with a huge bowl of salad and bread this was definitely one of the best steaks I have ever eaten!! I didn't arrive at the

I spent three days sleeping in a hammock overlooking the carribean sea. Every morning I would wake up watching the sunrise over the water, swim, eat fresh coconut, swim, have fresh fish for lunch, go for another swim, have more fish for dinner, swim, and finish off the night drinking Colombian rum slowly falling asleep in my hammock watching the sunset over the beach. I didn't have a shower for 4 days, I survived with no toilet paper and I didn't wear shoes once! There isn't more to write and I think the pictures give a better story! Jayden.

It is probablly the craziest town I have ever been to. Coming over the hill on the bus from Cartagena into Taganga you see a nice quant little beach town with lots of fishing boats moored along the northern beach. But as the bus slowly reaches the town and heads into the streets behind the beach you see a very different picture. There are endless stray dogs, and many shanty huts built on the rockiest and dirtiest roads I have seen. Despite all of this, this little village has become Colombias biggest backpacker hub and you can easily forget you are actually in Colombia. I was staying at La Tortuga

It is one of Colombias most popular tourist destinations due to it's position along the carribean coast. When I hopped off the plane I could instantly feel the heat as the temperature was nearing 33 degrees. Two weeks ago it was -10 degrees in Germany so I have just shifted to a 50 degree difference! Getting off the plane I was still wearing pants and a jumper but as soon as I got to my hostel I finally put on a pair of shorts and a singlet - for the first time in about 4 months! Cartagena city has two main parts - the walled coloniel city ("old town"), and a long strip of hotel

There are millions and millions of people in the city and it is surprisingly a city full of big named corporate organisations. Most of the city habitants are businessmen and women. However, despite the fact it is a bustling working city, there is still a dangerous side that most people associate the city with. This is an area I definitely kept away from and you still need to take extreme care when you are walking around by yourself. The government has taken tourism extremely serious and they are implementing so many policies to ensure that tourists come to Bogota. Nearly every single street has at least two police officers patrolling it and there is one whole section

I hopped straight onto the metro with my bags and I was surprised that the train was empty despite it being morning peak hour, however after 2 minutes of having the carriage to myself a hurd of people boarded. The carriage was jam packed and I was squished against the door struggling to breathe - it was pure torture and I missed my stop as I couldn't get off the train in time. With no map and no idea where to go I knew I wasn't anywhere near my hostel. But after about an hour searching around I finally made it to

The airport was very impressive and I was extremely excitede to be finally be in Spain! Palm trees lined the airport perimeter and excitedly hopped on an express bus and headed into the city centre. From first impressions on the bus, I could tell that I was going to enjoy my time in Barcelona. The streets were pretty and the squares were full of people sitting around eating and talking. There were lots of trees and gardens with beautiful Spanish buildings on every corner. Despite having a population of nearly 2 million people, the city felt like a real relaxed and friendly holiday destination rather than

Over the last three weeks I have watched more movies than I have in my entire life - including every single new release that is currently in the cinemas. I also have walked the entire city about five times visiting the Brandenburg Gate a total of six times. Life on the farm was a nice break and I am happy that I got to experience something that most people will never in their lifetime. I have just been to the local currywurst shop and had my last ever Berliner Currywurst... it's the best thing about Berlin and probablly the best food I have ever eaten! Have also just been to

This included going on the London Eye - a complete waste of time and money.. would not recommend it to anyone! During my time in London I also spent most days with my Aussie friends- Robert, Ben and Simon. It was great to see some familiar faces and my time in London wouldn't have been the same if they weren't there. On my last night we all went and saw a variety show at the Camden Roundhouse called La Soiree. The acts were pretty insane and it was just like a mish-mash of Australias Got Talent and a circus. After a few too many drinks it was time for me to say

Simon and I arrived at Paris Gare Du Nord train station with about 1 hour spare before our trains departure. We thought that this would be plenty of time, but we were very, very wrong. With the Christmas rush, the Eurostar could not keep up with the demand of people and so we were stuck in the line for about 45 minutes.. We finally reached the border crossings and we breezed through the French border control but for me it was a very different story going through the UK customs.... With about 15 minutes before the train was to depart I was stopped and had my bag searched and questioned for about 10 minutes. After showing proof of travel
