Whistler At Last! That was the feeling I had as the bus pulled into park. Not that it has been a long trip but for me I have been waiting to get here since about 1998 when I first read about this place in a ski magazine. As we got out of the bus the excitement was high as we realised just how massive this place was. The valley is big and the mountains are massive. We got a map from the information desk and realised after walking around with all our bags and the help from to Aussie girls [View Full Entry]

We loved Banff but we were excited to continue on our roadtrip, so after getting a quick coffee in the morning we continued on our way to Fernie. The drive was nice, lots of different scenery compared to what we have seen so far, there was ofcourse mountains but there were lots of farm land and a couple of massive lakes. But the highlight would of had to of been driving up to a grey wolf standing in the middle of the road. We were the first car in bit of a convoy so we slowed everyone else down and also [View Full Entry]

Driving the icefield Pathway to Banff was an amazing experience. The mountains and glaicers were spectacular and after every bend in the road there was yet another spectacular mountain to take your breath away. Lake Louise was one stop we couldn’t miss, so we took the turn off and followed along with the other tourists to the very famous Lake Louise. No surprise at all, it was absolutely stunning. We did the photo thing and took in the amazing view (the glacier above the lake was also spectacular) and decided to make our quick escape from the tourists and continue on [View Full Entry]

Well after a long plan flight we finally landed in Vancouver. After months of planning the plane flight seemed to take for ever, even though it was not a bad flight at all. We arrived to a 12 degree day with light drizzle, this pretty much sumed up most of the week weather wise. We walked around the city a lot the first afternoon trying to fight off jet lag and taking in a few sights before we went back to the hostel. We stayed in a nice little hostel on Burnaby street in downtown Vancouver. It was a nice little [View Full Entry]

We were excited to start our road trip and picked up our rental car first thing in the morning to head for Japser. Driving out of the city was fairly easy, but once we got to Highway No.5 we were cautioned of 'Extreamly Slippery Icy Roads,' and frequently saw these signs until very soon we saw many cars and even a few trucks that had slid off the road. Scary stuff, but we were careful and made it safely to Jasper. Once we arrived in Jasper we went for a drive through town and explored a little around the national park [View Full Entry]
