| 23rd February 2007 elizabeth | Sigh - From: Paraguay deserves more love... I lived in Paraguay from 1976-80... It doesn't look as if it has changed too terribly much. Except that country road photo looks very smooth. What happened to the beautiful cobblestones on the way to ARegua? ARe they still there. San B. We used to hang out there. Lago Ypacarai... what color is the water now? It was such a peaceful place where the good things in life were celebrated. Thanks for the memories. |

| 18th January 2007 Elvira | Free advertisement for Salta - From: Salta: A Warm Hug Without realizing it, you just wrote an attractive piece for a newspaper published by the Salta’s tourist office. If I, as a potential visitor, was reading it somewhere I would start making plans to go visit Salta and its surroundings immediately. I would still do (maybe not today) - especially after hearing about it from you and seeing the pictures. Thank you for posting many pictures - you know that I can never get enough of them… |

| 11th January 2007 dad | overbussed? - From: Flexibility is a Plus With all the pain and problems of local bus travel, it wouldn't surprise me if most of the population in the little dusty towns you passed through are former transit bus travelers who just gave up and stayed behind rather than taking the next leg of their trip. I hope you will not join their ranks and complete your journey. |
| 11th January 2007 Elvira | Miss your car? - From: Flexibility is a Plus You have become a seasoned bus rider. Just imagine how strange (but wonderful) it would feel while driving your own car in about 3 weeks. |

| 8th January 2007 Alex | maps.google.com - From: Ode to the Flamingo Take a look at the Salt Flats on Google Maps (satellite or hybrid view). It really is a huge white blob amongst all the green and brown. Typing in Uyuni, Bolivia will get you there. |

| 28th December 2006 Dad | Bad Bus - From: Leaving Paraguay: Easier Said than Done What a trip! Glad this bus ride is over. May be you should consider walking the rest of the trip? But then again - we want to hear more funny (for us, not necessarily for people on the bus) stories. Can't wait for the next dispatch. Keep writing! |
| 27th December 2006 Mom | To laugh or to cry? - From: Leaving Paraguay: Easier Said than Done Well, Natalie, you are spoiling us - three stories in one day! Very diverse stories, no doubt. Only knowing that you got to your destination safely, I could read it laughing. Thanks for the great sense of humor in your portrayal of various characters and events. I am sure humor was the only thing that would help you survive such a trip. |
| 27th December 2006 Elvira | Lovely story - From: Nochebuena en Encarnacion This story is so sweet. They are very nice and generous people and I am glad that the Christmas Eve turned out to be so special for you. These are the kind of things that will stay in your memory forever. |
| 27th December 2006 Elvira | Lost Utopia - From: Jesuit Ruins at Trinidad The words “Lost Utopia” come to mind reading your story - that’s how the author of an article about Jesuit missions in South America described them (travel section of The New York Times, about a month ago). You had a great advantage of not sharing these sleepy ruins with hordes of tourists. It adds mystery and lets your imagination go wild… |

Can't wait to see your pictures from the beautiful Paraguay, especially men peeing next to the No Orinar sign. Make sure to buy one of those machetes if you plan to stay there much longer. And please stay away from those cows from the Chaco (who knows where they've been). |
