A day of relaxation and comfort as we chilled for the afternoon at Pitt Water's finest: Paradise Beach. Originally we had planned it to be a peaceful get away to tan and sleep on the beach but we were surprisingly accompanied by a huge birthday party full of eight year old girls. Though it wasn't the time we planned, it was still great and the weather couldn't have been better. Afterwards we went for Thai food in Newport where we sat on the beach and ate. we are here! after a long and tedious trip, we made it to beautiful australia! we're staying with evans relatives in Mona Vale (just outside of downtown sydney). words cannot describe how amazing it is here, so just check out the pictures, trust. the ocean, tropical birds, palm trees, beaches... just imagine your own personal paradise, thats australia! we went to west head the other day, and went to the look out, the view is incredible. the bay, the boats, the ocean, outstanding. after taking a few pictures from the look out, we drove to ku-ringai national park and did a [View Full Entry]

It began with an hour and a half subway ride to the airport, was followed by three plane rides to indirect destinations on the way to Australia, and was topped off by countless hours spent waiting in airport gates. The thing we learned about flying across the world: economy=hell, and crazy eights is the greatest invention in the world. Alright, so today we woke up to wonderful scrambled eggs and english muffins, courtesy of the lovely Avra. After filling our stomachs we decided to take a lengthy trek downtown to the Museum of Natural History. (Also known as the setting for the movie "Night At The Museum"). There we saw some pretty awesome aritfacts and animals, along with the most impressive Dinorsaur skeletons we've ever seen. We made it to Avra's place in Manhattan alright. After a pricy cab ride from JFK through a sketchy area. Chris already lost his Nalgene... left it on Delta flight DT5550, idiot. We're not joking. After snacking on some smoked motzerella cheese and ham with Avra, we headed out. Took a lenghty stroll through Central Park... got lost... found a map, then took the subway to Greenwich Village. Well, the time has come for us to bid our family and friends farewell. We all met at terminal 3 with bright smiles on our faces and left with tears pouring, (mothers especially). We've come to terms with what lies ahead and have high hopes for it. Six months is a pretty long time, but i think we'll be ok. (emphasis on think).
