| 7th December 2005 L. Benford | Die Felsenkirche - From: Back to Idar-Oberstein The Church in the Rock (Felsenkirche) was one of favorite places in the world to visit growing up. We lived on Straussber Kaserne and Baumholder. I do recall books on German legends (Beowolve, Seigfrid, Loreli (forgive my spelling - I have not used German in decades)... but the legend of the 2 brothers who battled over a maiden... one brother killing the other and his body going over the cliff, where the victorious and grieving brother built the church in penance... something like that any way. I just had to drop a line and say good luck on your search. I have long ago lost the photographs I had of the bridge but it too is forever in my memory. |
| 4th October 2005 Larry F.Estes | Ledgends - From: Back to Idar-Oberstein I taught school at Straussberg Kaserne. Idar-Oberstien was a wonderful, friendly and welcoming place. Has any one every heard of the ledgend called The Church in the Rock or How Two Village Married? Does anyone know if the Ledgend or tale has been written or tanslated into English? The tale has two names, two towns, and linked by The Enchanted Bridge. Does anyone have a picture of The Enchanted Bridge? I drew a picture of The Encahnted Bridge from my memory after coming home. |

| 27th January 2005 globetrekkingmama | I don't believe you can fly - From: Made It to Logan, Utah Thank you for your interesting comment. The key word about food is not "real" or "fake." It's "normal." Pam's kitchen does not contain real, fake, OR normal food. It only contains lemons, lots of lemons. |
