Tiny Feet
I saw a similar artifact in Paterson when I went to a museum there with Kerry. It's fascinating what culture can bring about. This convenient crib, hmmm... interesting lol.. I guess they don't have to clean the baby as much as over here. I wonder though, if they sat all day how that affected them learning to walk.

AWESOME!
This looks awesome!! I honestly had no idea they did all this outside daily. I thought it was just in the movies (naive I know). I would love to take a visit. Communism doesn't seem so bad here lol...

Ladies Hall/Tang Dynasty
What exactly is the ladies hall? Tang Dynasty? Black people as slaves back then? It's interesting to see how far back and how widespread slavery was.

AWESOME!
This is awesome! I didn't know that they still did this! I always see it in all the Asian movies I watch. I would love to see someone do that with the brush as big as a mop!

Doing Great
Hey, Sis. I hope this means we can seriously plan to do one of these some time. Yes, I had to laugh when I saw the room. Thank God they did not really try to fit six of us in here. We actually use the top bunks to store some of our things. This is so exciting. If it were not for the dirty air, I would invite you to return with me, but the air is awful. No smell, but it is like breathing smoke some days. I will take a picture in my mask. Chinese is very difficult to say. I am stumbling along with a lot of sign language. Sometimes it is funny; sometimes not. My family is holding up well. Keep checking the blog; since I am only half way I will have other entries. Love to Cliff and the kids. Hope Blake's thing is working out. Love you, Girl.

Hanging on
My dear sis, I know if anyone had the guts to do this it would be you. I am sure you are making a lasting impact on your students. Your little bed should remind you of those good old college days on the hill. I am glad you are doing fine, and I cannot wait for you to come home. How many chinese words can you speak now? Hopefully, you will be able to teach me the language. I will get skype set-up soon. Be safe. I need to see more pictures. Pearl

Happy Sabbath
Hi Cheryl and Ted and Brandon and Michelle, Thanks for your nice note. Things are still going well. I was joined by two other volunteers this week and that made my class much easier and helped me to hang out a bit and have even more fun. I have come to the end of my first assignment and now I am moving on to the Shaanxi History Museum to help the docents there. We had two days of blue skies (hazy, not smoky) so I was happy for that. It seemed to make things much colder, though. I was not happy for that. Anyway, hope you are doing well and that the new-baby-on-the-way and her mom are well. Take it easy and check out my blog, which I plan to update by tomorrow night. Love to all.

Out and About
Just checking-in with Girl On Foot. Looks like girl-on-foot has upgraded to girl on wheels. What an exciting place to be! You look good on the great wall. Ernie says "hello", he's going outside to prepare for our own snow fall expected late tonight and probably during our a.m. commute to work in the morning. p.s. It's a girl....our first grandchild to be!

Travel Update
Hello Ardice, Sounds like your schedule is full and that you are having a great time. We are still on vacation and was just checking emails. We are having a wonderful time and today we enjoyed Tulum; it was awesome. The sounds of the animals and birds always make me feel like I am in heaven and never want to leave. :-) We will keep in touch and hope your stay there continues to be a wonderful one. Can't wait to see pictures. Miss you and I am sure your family does too! Love Cheryl

Terry
Oh, Terry, you pack everything. However, it is much colder than I thought it would be. The air is cold and extremely dry. So we are bundled up all the time. The people wear their coats inside, too.

Back @ Terry
Thanks, Terry. While you were eating, I was flying over the Arctic. It was -72F degrees outside the plane, I was glad to be inside, even though most people had gloves, hats and heavy sweaters on. Hope all is going well at home and with the grandbaby. Give my best to the church family. Tell Ernie they serve homeland sweet potatoes yesterday. :) Catch you online.
