Your pictures are amazing, truly stupendous! This blog takes me back to my trip to India in 2005, can't wait for the next blog in Agra. If you can take these sort of shots of the golden temple, I'm salivating at the thought of what sort of pics you will take of the taj mahal...

@vikki: i don't think i have much, if any, to add to what the guide books already tell you. i'll usually check the weather to decide on the appropriate clothing to bring and whether free wifi is widely available (otherwise, the laptop stays at home).

I live in Shenzhen, just north of Hong Kong, and some people here also to believe pajamas are appropriate outerwear. I saw a man at a department store wearing a button down shirt underneath his pj shirt as if it were a jammie suit. Thanks for the heads up on Shanghai. I know now not to waste my time there. :)

the characters don't show up properly on my laptop, but I'm guessing either yangrou paomo or rou jia mo. i don't take beef or mutton anymore, so i missed out on quite a bit of local specialties.

Intro & ending of your blog cracked me up! I am a Xian native. I agree about the muslin street near Drum tower. It still has some of city's oldest & fundest goodies. Now have you tried our famous ¶‰9?

Wasn't there a sign which read, 'no photographs allowed' in the pits, or at least there used to be?

Kuta is the armpit of the world with the exception that it has world famous and out of this world sunsets. Lembongan is worth the trip - get to know the locals and if your lucky they'll take you out to harvest the seaweed. Your honestly is appreciated - keep up the blogs and photos!
