WOW!!!
Surprises are good, and they keep our wonder of this beautiful world fresh and alive. So, if that meandering tree upon your back is rooted in love, friendship and all the incredible experiences you have enjoyed, more power to you !!!! Look forward to giving you a big hug in a few days. I am very proud of you, dearest Ari ! Love from afar.....MA

boozy chops
I hear there is great coconut rum to be tasted 'out there.' And by that I mean outside of the restrictions and trade embargoes of the US confinement. It's difficult for my virgin taste buds to imagine. The thought, based on past experience, of coconut rum makes a sugary chill run down my spine.

With the blog now bookmarked, I'm back on reading track, only a month and a half behind. What an amazing beginning to a birthday. One to be remembered for sure! What a cultural shock to be returning home soon...

Wow!
Happy New Year Ari! Thanks so much for sharing your New Year's celebrations at Khan's (proving that people do and love to party every where on this amazing planet). The trek to Mt. Meru sounds utterly magical, and I can only imagine sitting on the ridge as the sun rose to a new year, with Kiliminjaro quietly, impressively looming just a few miles away. Love to you, and best to all --- Pod

Hey Ari and Colin! Thanks again for your wonderful, colorful, descriptive written passages of your travels through Madagascar! Your words fire our imaginations, and your ride from Morondova to Tana is going to be an all time classic story to be told around the campfires for years to come --- and for the locals, just another day in the life! Keep up the good work and keep your eyes open. Missing you and envying you at the same time. Love always --- Pod

Your stories are definately bringing back memories for me and i'm so jealous!! Just remember to accept the fact that nothing in Africa is efficient or easy, but so rewarding nonetheless! Take care and have the time of your lives you two!!
