Underwater trains

Well about time I put in an update. I actually have found time to get away from the hum drum of working life and see a bit more of Europe. Michelle and I decided we should get to France so booked two weeks off work and set off to see as much of the place as we could in our limited time frame. It started with the Eurostar from London to Paris. What a great way to get to another country just jump

Well finally another chance to put up an entry in my ldquotravelrdquo blog as I managed to break away from the hum drum of work to chalk up another country Spain.Actually Irsquoll start with the latest London news which most if not all of you will know which is that Michelle made the trip over and as of the 21st of Jan has joined me here. The last couple of weeks knowing that her arriva

Well it wasn't a white Christmas I'm sad to say although it was pretty cold I spent the day at home with my flatties who went and bought a massive amount of food and booze. Actually it was a pretty Christmassy day we even had a tree The decorations wern't too flash but seeing pressies all laying there made it feel like a real xmas. I felt a bit bad because I didn't buy anyone anything and sudd

Normal life again... ish

Well it's been a while since I updated mostly due to laziness and not really having fun news to write about. So I'll try to fill in what I've been doing without being too boring.Right so my last entry was when I had just got to London so I'll go from there. I rang up a mate from my old flat and managed to get a room in a place called Stratford which is in East London and pretty much reknowned

Back in the UK.

Well I made it to London OK after a rather major fuck up. I had tickets to London that left from the Polish city of Wroclaw now I had made a terrible assumption that Wroclaw Warsaw. Achem. Wrong. So I turned up at Warsaw airport wondering why the hell I couldn't see my flight on the board and sure enough I was in the wrong city entirely. Long story short I managed to buy an EasyJet flight which

By popular demand

I know now how easy it was for the Germans to get stuck going shit it's fucking freezing all of a sudden and we forgot our jackets. A week ago I was going out with a TShirt on although this did get some funny looks and Marina's Dad thinking I was insane because at 12C it really wasn't all that cold especially without wind. A week or so later and it's 1 at 11am this morning. Not only that b

Yep I made it. Actually I'm kind of glad I ended up having to fork out the dough for the flights. Everything I read about the train trip to Belarus talked of problems people had. I just flew in got my passport stamped and got out Easy peasy. No difficult visa questions no nothing. Marina came with a friend of hers to pick me up it was really great to see her again. As if I wasn't attracting e

But first impressions were good it was clean tidy and efficient and the staff very helpful when I had a query. Probably wont go back th

Venice. Wow. We're staying in a campsite about 20 minutes out of Venice it's a pretty sweet place. We are staying in a mobile home type room it's a small room with 3 beds and has it's own bathroom which is actually really nice. The shower is huge and really powerful. The main problem is the bugs I must have about 30 mossie bites and they're driving me crazy. There's a great pool area too which

We are now in a place called Lake Garda which is a little bit smaller than Lake Taupo. We are staying at a pretty nice hotel which makes a nice change from the hostels we have been at. Sharing a room however means that it is only slightly more each than the crappy hostel we were in in Rome. Here we have a nice room our own bathroom nice beds and a pool The weather has turned up to the party a

As I flew into Rome I was thinking how I would start by saying as a joke that it was true that the Romans are crazy drivers they even drive on the wrong side of the road However I then took a bus from the airport to the central train station and saw that there was no joking they are insane I meet up with Matt and Hayden there which was great nice to have some mates to travel with.
Well it's been another week of doing the tourist thing. I found out that my cousin Sarah was living in Edinburgh which although I knew she was in Europe somewhere was a really good surprise. I meet up with her where she works and had a big catch up on our various travels. She invited me to stay with her after I got back from the 3 day Highland tour which I had booked. The tour was great. 3 day

Scotland

Finally I can put another destination than London I'm in Edinburgh it's an amazing looking place all the old buildings are even more impressive than London. My first impression hasn't been the best though. I got into the station at 630pm and trickly made my way to the hostel via the terrible instructions from their website. Thank god it's a smaller town than London. Basically it's as dirty as

Well I'll be leaving my Leytonstone house in about an hour. I'm kind of surprised how sad I am to be leaving I've really grown to like the place. But it's off on another adventure for me which will be great I can't decide which I feel more about leaving London happy to be going or sad to be leaving. It's that sort of city.My train ride to Edinburgh should take about four and a half hours appa

Right it's been a few days since I added an entry I haven't really had much of a chance to get into the internet cafe in the last week or so. Just a reminder that if you subscribe to this it sends you an email when I make an update I don't think it sends any other junk.Well I've done a few cool things in the last while. The weather has been up and down but luckly enough up that I've managed to

Last night we went to a club called Terminal which was quite a bit closer than the place we tried going to last weekend. Again we went with my Polish flattie Blo. There was some sort of event on with heaps of different DJs playing the place was pretty big lots of different dance floors playing different music. It was also a bloody maze Really hard to find your way around but we had a great

More tourism...

On Sunday a couple of my flatmates suggested we go to a place called 'White House' which is apparently a pretty good club and decent on a Sunday night. Well in the end it was only Blo Marina and I who ended up going. Blo is from Poland and is a very trendy sort of guy he's a graphic designer and is all into fashion and stuff he seems to know what places are good to go to so I thought it would

Finally it's raining. Which is bad for me because it makes it hard to walk around but it's great I'm sure for everyone else as there's a big drought on at the moment. On Thursday it drizzled a bit too mostly whilst Marina and I stood outside Buckingham palace waiting for the changing of the guards only to be told after waiting 20 minutes that it was only every second day that the changing of
