fayeonguam - Faye Varias

Faye Varias People have often commented that my travel stories make them want to visit the places I've been, but that's because we usually have a lot in common. If you're outdoorsy, extra adventurous, and enjoy extreme sports, we probably won't function well on the same itinerary. But if you like animals, a little bit of adventure, love exotic foods, and appreciate good theater and art, then you're my kind of traveler.

The love of my life, Bryan, is my usual travel partner. Because he walks with crutches, some of our treks require a little bit of extra research. This blog is dedicated to those who don't let mobility restrictions become a factor when exploring the world.

Hope to share lots of travel stories with you!

*If this entry sounds a bit too stiff, it's because I it's an excerpt off a travel piece I was assigned to do. A shopping paradise with a history, Portland, Oregon usually isn’t a place that strikes one as a travel destination. With a complementary list of sites I wanted to see, I knew I was in for a great [View Full Entry]

For Bryan's birthday, I decided to treat us to Palau. Apparently, if you live on Guam and have never been to Palau, people think you're weird. Part of it is because due to some ear thing I have, I can't ever dive, and I didn't think there was much left to do other than that. Lucky for me, I was enlightened by a couple of non-diver friends so I got to see a side of Palau very few people speak of. The hotel which would be our home for the weekend was the Palau Pacific Resort. I was a little nervous, [View Full Entry]

I've tried to come up with some witty intro as my first entry, however, I'm not my usual quippy self around deadlines, so that idea went bust. I decided to repost an entry from another blog here, which was our trip to Cairns, because one, I want to relive it, and two, I'm putting off work. So here I go... Cairns is AWESOME! I think my goal within the next few years is to buy a timeshare out there. It's got a very Maui feel to it--no tall buildings, the people are really nice, and the weather was EXCELLENT! Nothing but [View Full Entry]
