However the whole idea of packing up and saying goodbye and my final reactions and first reflections are just too big of a concept to lay out on this computer screen at the moment.Just know that I am returning the night of Dec. 14th...with presents I would like to cook up some Ghanaian food soon after I get back for whoever might be intere http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/blog-352722.html "I don't think my husband would like that" and other vain attempts Well I made it back from Lome But first allow me to begin with recent comeon's by guys1. to my friend Rachel while she is seated in a taxi in trafficWhat is your nameRachelRichardRachelRichard.no RachelRichard are you a boy or a girlI am a girl.Give me your number.2. to me while I am sitting in traffic in a trotro being forced to listen to the preacher who has gotten on http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/blog-350638.html Recent Developments including the bug living in my intestine Hello againhellip17 more days in this adventure really My perception of these last two weeks changes every couple of hours. Two days before that I was having a ldquo I only have three weeks lefthellipwhere did the time gohelliphow http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/blog-348789.html The idlenes of words to cover weeks Oh my hello there. It has been a long time. Let me begin by saying that the internet has been insanely unhurried the past few weeks. There have been a few times when I have typed up a blog only to find the internet too slow to post it or save it. Irsquove been trying for about a month to schedule my classes for spring at Pitt and can not open emails from my advisors. Such is Ghana as our USA http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/blog-344007.html Just another week really Hello So I have noticed that my writing has become more sporadic these last couple weeks and I am absolutely aware of the reason the heat. The dry season has hit Ghana with a vengeance and it is hard enough to drink my usual 3 cups of instant coffee per day and go for a run let alone make the walk across campus to use the computer. Instead of my usual internet walks I have been substituting http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/blog-337712.html The world is such a wonderful place Well how time is flyingBack to some stories of last weekend. In between going to the football game our group stayed at this place called the Hideaway Lodge anddddd man was it hidden actually. It was miles away from town on bumpy dirt roads and right on the ocean. The water was perfectly clean and rock free with the exception of one giant rock perfectly placed by the water's edge perfect for c http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/blog-335460.html say cheese..."serious." Hello Well I am back on campus after a fantastic weekend trip four hours west to Takarodi and Busua Beach. I headed over on Friday morning with 4 students I haven't traveled with before and then met up with some USAC students later in the weekend. The main objective of the trip was to see a World Cup qualifier match between Ghana's national football soccer team and Lesotho. The second objectiv http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/blog-334202.html The adventures of students other than me... well hello again i wish i could say that I had many interesting and enlightening travel experiences to impart to you all but as I have been focusing on my health and healing I have done very little in the past few days with the exception of going to the Accra mall and studying Twi with espresso and buying spinch and eggplant at a grocery store to cook with. So that being the case I wi http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/blog-331909.html Ghana you STILL give me fever sigh Sigh not much to report because today is the first day I have stepped outside my hostel since 630 Friday morning because I have been sick of all things with a throat infection how exotic I know. However it had my fever up to 103 for a few days and the rest of me in too much pain to sleep much...so basically the last few days have been wretched. However some good points remain1. I am gettin http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/Legon/blog-329745.html Meko kurom daa...I go to town everyday. mepe Ghana...I like Ghana. Mepatkyew to so...give me more as a gift please. all spelled wrong I am sure Well another week is about over ready to head into October This past weekend was incredible. A group of six of us decided to use the weekend to travel to Ada a coastal village that is situated between the South Atlantic Ocean and the Volta River. We took a variety of trotros to head east about 2 hours. In Ada there is a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and getting there on a Saturday http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/blog-327531.html I just spent the weekend in a hut inbetween the river and the ocean and pictures are up The process I went through to get these pictures here was amazingly complicted but hopefully worth it. enjoy. http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/blog-326399.html All she likes to do is dance... Ok first things firstWill someone tell Nanny that when I was showing off pictures of my lovely family friends and boyfriend to one of my new friends here he said ldquoOh that is your grandma She looks like she is 45.rdquoA couple of nights ago I went salsa dancing haha. Who would have thought And there are in my inexperienced opinion some very talented salsa dancers here in Accra. http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/Legon/blog-325237.html Mepe nkatee. te so. I like peanuts. Reduce the price Well how have I already been in Ghana for 5 weeks These last two weeks have just flown by. Incredible. I am finally content with the food and am starting to actually look forward to my bowl of beans and cassava or rice or plantains. I have ridden my first seven trotros and succeeded in buying food out of one of their windows as the driver sits in traffic things here are actually startin http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/Legon/blog-323447.html What you Ghana do about it. haha Well hello again. The weather here has been wonderful the last couple of days and while I am still having slight head issues I have finally been able to really enjoy the last few days here and for that I am so thankfullllll. I agree although those egg sandwiches are still hitting the spot. It is amazing the things I have to leave out in these updates because so much goes on and my time on the internet is limited with it working so slowly the fact that I have to pay for internet time in most cafes. On thing I definitely meant to mention last time was my water bottle experience. Here in Ghana a normal size bottle of water is the equal vent of 40 cents and a very large bottle is http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/blog-319779.html Running for my life from an elephant and other adventures in Northern Ghana Well hello again Where to start Sorry these blogs are so grammatically and syntacticly horrible. It is just that with the internet the way it is I want to squeeze in so much and I never have time to proof read. so again sorry Last night my USAC group returned from our five day journey to Northern Ghana and back. Ghana has various distinct regions. Greater Accra is located in the south http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Northern/Mole-National-Park/blog-318977.html Pictures Pictures well it let me add two http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/blog-316908.html In my bones Hello Well today was a beautiful sunny day and it is transitioning into a beautiful evening. I woke up with my first mosquito bite today I guess I couldn't expect to stay bite free the entire 18 weeks...Let's see...yesterday's classes were pretty wonderful. I had dance again at 730 am and again today at 1130. I honestly love love love that class. I would never take a dance class at home beca http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/Legon/blog-316896.html It's frozen Well classes started today Bright and early at 730 am I had my first dance class I have tried twice today to upload photos and i got one uploaded i think sigh. well dance class was a workout an embarrassment and amazingly fun It is basically a small hot room with 120 students all trying to see the instructor and follow his movements and well...i am not a good dancer but one the plus sid http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Ghana/Greater-Accra/blog-316152.html
