So we're continuing the route planning with just 70 days approx to go until we leave London for the epic trip. Switzerland, particularly Geneva, Montreux and Rochers-de-Naye seems to be a new focus at the moment with a spa, mountain hike and a train journey(s) to be included. We're also investigating the possibility of going to Paris on the first day within the first couple of hours to check it out, possible eat and then continue south-eastward to Dijon and then the Alps. Once the first 3 days or so are out of the way, we're then heading to the south-east limits of the trip by heading to the Croatian coast. Saving the necessary funds is easier said than done! Looks like credit will very much be my friend this summer. As for the route, we've decided against Barcelona and anywhere west of the Italian Alps. A shame, but necessary to ensure we don't flout strict drink-drive laws. Boring but can't have the trip ruined! So Berlin a real possibility along with NW Poland before crossing back over towards Munich & Berchtesgaden to continue the rest of the route before heading up western Germany following Switzerland to head back to the UK on the 4th August.... read more

Well we booked the campervan. Looks like a good model. Bit more expensive meaning it's going to be nearer £2000 rather than £1800 but not too bad. Three week trip. Start & finish in London then a loop around the Alps basically, taking us to Czech Rep, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany & Holland. Quality. With a final finish on the south coast or in London. Brilliant trip coming. Saving begins!... read more
