hey, i have been just walking about in stone town and staying up in the treefort built on the beach at the house i am staying, and going through some funny books left behind by others. there is a fridge stocked with soda's and a tally system that i have been utilizing. also, a "bread" shop just up the road, which is more of a small stone room full of odd buns. the house is a fifteen minute ride by dala-dala from stone town, most days i wake up very early and go out onto the beach at low tide [View Full Entry]

hey! i ended up with a ticket to the ferry from dar es salaam to zanzibar after accidentally letting myself be toured by a street bum into his fathers safari shop and pressured heavily by his entire family into purchasing one. he was a nice fellow with no teeth who initially let on to be just looking for some company. i assumed that they had taken me on the price of the ticket, but it turns out that they did not... which i feel guilty about. it was a strange circumstance as i was literally trapped in the mans shop by [View Full Entry]

yes i am in dar es salaam! it is very strange. very intimidating, but i am getting beyond that now, the streets are wild and old and the people on them are tall and lanky. instead of having sidewalks they have slightly wider roads, there is nowhere designated for travel by foot. it is safe enough to walk around it seems, it is only very intimidating. but i need to rest and rest, i am very jet lagged and it is raining very hard. i need a rythm as well. i am leaving today at midday on the "flying horse" boat [View Full Entry]
