The Marching Chiefs take their final adventure of the 2010 football season to - you guessed it - Atlanta, GA. In this much more organized and less time-crunched trip, the Chiefs had plenty of extra time to explore the city and take in the festive New Years atmosphere. Thanks to Brad's Crown connections, a group of Chiefs partied it up until all hours of the morning with some cool cats from the South Carolina marching band the night before the game. Also on this trip, a win for the Seminoles on New Years Eve! Eager to immerse ourselves in the celebratory spirit, a group of Chiefs set out to find a hot spot to settle at for the evening. After exterminating our pesky reptilian rivals in a thrilling 31-7 victory at Doak Campbell stadium, the Seminole nation watched the Maryland Terrapins defeat the Tarheels of UNC, securing a place for Florida State in the ACC Championship. Though there was much excitement, this meant that the Marching Chiefs would be making the most condensed trip in Chiefs history to and from Charlotte, NC. After playing in the Prism concert on 12/3, all 9 buses departed the College of Music at 11pm to travel through the night to Charlotte. Upon our arrival, we checked into a hotel for 5 hours, then were whisked off to the game. Though it was indeed an exciting environment, the relentless freezing rain and lack of sleep proved to be too much for Chiefs to handle. The team's loss also meant that ... read more
