Well I finished my degree last summer and tried out the working thing for a while. I quickly discovered that I´m not really into the whole working scene just yet. What better time to go on a little three month vacation? So here I am in Costa Rica, the first country on my trip up to Mexico. I´m travelling on my own, trying to learn Spanish, perfect surfing, meet some people, relax, see some monkeys and Mayan ruins, among many other things. You can´t ask for much more can you? I´d have to say it´s going pretty great so far, so I´ll see you all soon...if I decide to come back :)

Hey all, I have probably seen most of you by now, but I thought a little update would be a good idea. I'm back at home, right into the old life, except I can't stop partying and not worrying about a thing. But this last week has been so much fun, besides the fact that I thought it's supposed to be summer here! It's been so good to see the fam, and all my friends, even though I've already driven up and down the island twice and to Campbell River and back. But it's all worth it because everytime you see someone you love it just might be the last! And my family is so, so, so amazing, and my friends well, you know who you are...whether that is good or bad, you'll never know!! haha! ... read more

hola! ahh for the last time I guess. I am flying home today from Mexico City. The 13 hour bus ride up from the coast was no problem, I took in some quality Spanish movies and had a surprisingly good sleep. The city has been great, it´s really beautiful and not a dirty as I people have told me to expect. No problems with buses, or taxis, or hotels. I explored all around on foot, but I didn´t have the energy or ambition to go to any of the other sights on tours or anything. I think I got a good feel for the city in two days though. It´s big, and noisy, and a lot to see and take in, but I like it. I just walked around checking out all the old buildings, some ... read more

Hey, ahhh only a few more days to go!! Crazy! Things have been good since my last entry, I had such a good time in Mazunte. What a perfect place that was. Every morning I would step out my door onto the sand and go for along swim in the sea, and then relax a bit on my front porch (more sand and some hammocks) and then go for some breakfast. The daytime usually involved a lot of walking, swimming, reading, and doing not too much. I walked really far one day and found so many deserted beaches, it was great. I was the only person staying at the Cabañas and the rest of the people around were all Mexican. A few guys at the hotel spoke English though, so I mostly hung out with them. ... read more

hello everyone, So I am in Mexico now after a solid 35 hours of travelling. I am in a little tiny place called Mazunte, it´s beautiful...paradise...again. I had a good time in Xela, Guatemala. It´s a nice city, there was plenty to do and see andI ended up running into some friends from Utila on the street, which is always nice. And I ran into my Israeli friend for the fourth time, in a random restaurant in Xela. So we went out and had some good times. It rained a lot though, and I mean a lot, pretty much all the time with little breaks, but it was also really hot during the day. Never go out without a raincoat and umbrella in Xela! One day I decided to go to this tiny town called Almolonga ... read more

Hey everyone, it feels like ages since I last used a computer but I guess it hasn´t been that long. Hmmm, what has been happening lately, the days seem to all blur together. We had some interesting nights out in Coban, you can´t really call it going out though because we were pretty much the only people around. One bar we went to, offered a selection of possibly stolen electronics and appliances to browse while you drank your beer. The gun-weilding bar tender/host/cook/DJ/waiter was nice enough though. We had a few beers there amongst the dead palm tree in the corner, the broken disco ball, and the egg-carton covered walls, and a table of locals. Good times. The next night we went to another little 'bar' down the street from out hotel, it was more or ... read more

Hola mi amigos, que tal? I´m doing good as usual. It´s been a great few days since my last update. We went to Tikal of course, which was pretty amazing to see. The ruins were beautiful and it´s was crazy to think of what it might have looked like thousands of years ago when it was at its peak. The last night we were in Flores there was some great lightening over the mountains across the lake, and we were serenaded by a very innebriated man singing in the distance. After Tikal it was down to Coban, which is a nice little city. We spent the afternoon in Coban, checked out a little Mayan museum and a church up on a hill with great views of the city. Guatemala is a real mixture of tradition and ... read more

Hey everyone, I know it´s been a while but I just really can´t be bothered to use the internet most of the time. Hmmm, where have I been lately? We left Hopkins, Belize a week or so ago. Our last night there in Punta Gorda was interesting. Punta Gorda is a cute, quiet little town in the south of Belize. We were playing hackey sack at this little church and a bunch of Belizean kids came and hung out with us, they were so cute. They were all showing off to us and wanted to play with us. That was fun, after a while a Rasta dude called King came along. He invited us to dinner at his ´studio´and we decided to go along with it. His studio was really just an old 115 year old ... read more

Hola amigos, So I made it to Belize after my few days of interesting travels. The boat from Guatemala to Belize was beautiful because there were dolphins jumping around the boat and intense chain lightening over the coast of Belize. Punta Gorda was a cute little town from what I saw while I waited for the last bus I had to take. It seemed very poor, lots of bare feet and ragged clothes, but the people there were nice as I walked around. A few more hours on the bus up to Mango Creek, one more little walk, and finally one more boat ride over to Placencia and I was there. Five buses, three boats, and two borders in just over a day, oh yeah. I got stamps in my passport from three different countries all ... read more

Hey all, things have been pretty hectic these last few days. I left Utila two days ago at 7am in the morning. I got in two more night dives before I left, which were so awesome. Diving at night is incredible, a completely different world from the day time. There was bioluminesence everywhere, we saw a big octopus, and then you surface and it´s all starry. We all shut our torches off on the bottom, and there is so much to see out in the darkness, and it really is pitch black. I was a little scared at first, but it was so peaceful and beautiful. I also forgot to mention last time that on my other dives I saw turtles, dolphins, huge lobsters, reef squid, really big fish, really small fish and everything in between. ... read more

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while but it's hard to make myself go use the internet. I have just had the best 12 days ever! I love it here so much. I have now finished my Open Water certification and my Advanced Open Water, and even did a Nitrox certification too. I love diving so much. I just got back from a deep dive to 30m, it was beautiful!! So my life has been party all night, dive all day for the last little while. If I'm not diving, I go for a big snorkel or relax on the dock. The courses are so relaxed and informal, but the instructors are still professional. It's cool because you can just sit out in the sun and listen to music while you're doing the theory. And ... read more
