Autumn is beautiful in the northeast. One does not have to venture out to the New England states to view the color. Here are some of the scenes in Fall 2008.... read more
I have always wanted to go to Albuquerque in October to check out the hot air balloon fiesta. One of the must-see for the enthusiasts. The Albuquerque balloon fiesta is the biggest in the world, an anual nine-day event in every October, and has around 600 balloons from the USA and the world registered this year. It is considered one of the most photographed event in the world. In the morning and in weekend, hundred of hot air, colorful balloons were launching from the park and afloat to the sky, it is an amazing sight to be seen. I booked my flight 3 months earlier to take advantage of one of the lowest available. I flew Continental airline to Albuquerque via Houston. Arrived in Albuquerque in the afternoon and called the hotel to send a complimentary ... read more
It is Newark, everybody. It is the 64th largest city in the US according to Wikipedia. More than half of the city population is African American. Latino or Hispanic origins accounts for a close to 30%. In 1996, Money magazine named Newark was the "most dangerous city in the Nation" but things have changed dramatically due to efforts of local government to revitalize the city. New commercial developments have arisen in the downtown areas. Here are few scenes around the city. A piece of advice about street meter parking in Newark. If you have a car and plan to park along the street, you have to identify the parking pace on the pole (letter A, B, or C, or D) and go back or forth to other pole nearby with a meter, and hit the button ... read more

Another road trip to the north in May. The weather is quite nice and I was just in time to check out the cherry blossom in High Park (the largest park in Toronto). Yet, in downtown areas, flowers are in full blooms too. Check out the sights.... read more
Make myself available to enjoy cultural activities in the tri-states area. April weather is nice and why not joining others to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival activities being offered every year here in the city of Philadelphia. Philadelphia is home to some 2000 Japanese cherry trees (sakura), half of which were a gift from the Japanese government in 1926 in honor of the 150th anniversary of American independence, with the other half planted by the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia between 1998 and 2007. Within Fairmount Park in Philadelphia and along the Schuylkill river, in late March early April, it is a good time to take a stroll and enjoy the beauty of the flower. In this year' event, on Monday, in the early evening, the second day of 2-weeks long event, taiko drum ... read more
These are not foreign if you travel to Asia, tropical weather countries, but here in Canada, you are able to find them too, as fresh as they can get... Walking around the Chinatown areas in Toronto, one of the largest in North America brings back memories of wandering in far flung lands. There were quite a few selections of tropical fruits that you can purchase and more asian restaurants that you can feed your hungry stomach. The importation of tropical-fresh fruits into Canada seems easier than its southern country, the United States, evidently there are more availability of these fruits in ethnic asian supermarkets here. ... read more
My first trip to Toronto was few years ago in late December when I was able to snatch a cheap round-trip flight from the small town Hagerstown regional airport to Toronto (via Pittsburgh). It was cold and cold. I think I will like more and more Toronto as I have reasons to visit now. Here are few memories of the trip.... read more
