| 31st March 2007 downwithd | - From: F.A.Q. (The End) I would like to say that there were black people in every country we went to. But there were not many. I guess it is like seeing white people too. There were not too many of them either. Just the travelers. The US has a lot of everything all at once. |

It is very difficult to pick a favorite but we were extremely lucky to meet such terrific people. The only thing I can say for sure is Dr. Chris was definitely the cutest. |

| 3rd March 2007 dad | learning lessons - From: Moria is Offered $ for Sex Glad to hear that you are fluent in Spanish. I hope your fluency is better than your "fluent" Italian. One thing you must learn is that "use it or lose it". Adios, Lowe Dad |

| 3rd March 2007 Bernie & Iris | $30.00 U.S.D. - From: Moria is Offered $ for Sex I'm thrilled to have hooked up with you again. We left you in Queensland and Brisbane. It's been fantastic seeing the country (especially your earlier blogs) through the eyes of someone much younger than us and again realizing that one should really travell when one is much younger, more energetic and still dares to take risks. We'll read your blogs during the next couple of days and vicariously enjoy your journey. |

| 15th January 2007 PAT | Your dream - From: Oh, the Places We'll Go I know that Australia has always been your dream, and I'm happy that you got to experience it so fully. I know that the Steve Irwin memorial must have been very emotional for you. It's been all over the papers here that Bindi proclaims she, "will follow in Dad's footsteps". So time passes on and the torch is passed to a new generation. I know about the world-wide water crisis beciuse I read the book "Water" by Marq De Villiers, I recommend it to anyone concerned about the planet's future. rock on Dudes! |

PRAWNS on the Barbie Ahh gals...the fine tunes of silverchair bring me back to the days of braces and not using hair products...I'm sure you willl have a lovely time; however, beware! Do not eat in front of Daniel Johns as he might have an anorexic relapse MK style. Poor thing..nevertheless I think his tortured soul will put on an excellent performance and you will ring in the new year right. New years resolution ideas: no street meat, do not get drunk while exploring caves in Asia, learn hospital lingo in ALL languages, NEVER LEAVE YOU GOOD PAL FOR 2 YEARS STRAIGHT!!!! (I think the last one is a good one!) Love you lots, Happy New Year! |

| 27th December 2006 Amanda | Santa Boots? - From: Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi Kettle-if you woudl please relay to Alex that my disappointment in not seeing one photgraph with him in his Santa boots is totally and utterly overwhelming. I mean I thought that Christmas meant somethign to him!?! I guess I was wrong and those poor boots, just strewn in the garbage like poo....totally unacceptable! Chirstmas brought me a fabulous new chefs knife and a couple of sassy dresses....all i need now is to drop 30-45 pounds and I will be able to wear them. Dropping lbs and getting a new chefs knife...hmmm not a good combo. tanti baci e buon natale |

| 28th November 2006 anonymous | broken - From: On to the fifth country of our travels... I'm pretty sure Mr. McCain would say that both of his legs were broken and he was so incapacitated that he could only communicate by blinking. So regardless of the thread count on the sheets, I don't think he'd rate the Hanoi Hilton 5 stars. |
| 28th November 2006 anonymous | arguements for art - From: On to the fifth country of our travels... why am i not surprised you two got into a fight in an art museum? lol. I can picture exactly how it went down. Sounds great girls. Kate-- Sept 22, 2007. Concordia Saggitaria. Be there. Don't wear white. It's set. xoxoxo tess |

| 28th November 2006 anonymous | Hey girls, - From: On to the fifth country of our travels... I just wanted to write a quick note to say I've been enjoying reading about your travels! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving in Asia. Kate, my parents truly enjoyed your postcard about your dysentery and how you had it coming out both ends. Looking forward to reading more. Take care of yourselves! Moria, be witty. |
| 26th November 2006 Wendison | the gassy man - From: A Ha Noi Thanksgiving It is unfortunate you didn't have the giant incense cones on the bus with the farty man. Farts are unnaceptable. |
| 26th November 2006 Dr. Fergus (MD) | Bags under the eyes??!! - From: A Ha Noi Thanksgiving I recommend a brief halt in your regular hospitalizations, everyone knows that hospitalization is draining on the system, can cause stress and results in chronic baggy eye syndrome - that's a medical FACT!! So merely avoid indulging your love of sampling Asian hospitals over the next few weeks and your problems should clear right up!! |
| 25th November 2006 dad | Bags under the eyes - From: A Ha Noi Thanksgiving Kate I think the only cure for the bags, when you are 26, is to get some sleep. The more sleep the less bags. I think they are inversely proportional; the mkore sleep the smaller the bags. Love Dad |

| 19th November 2006 fashion editor | those gorgeous khaki pants (trousers) - From: We are in love. i have had a look through the photos on your blog and must say they are fantastic. i particularly like those of moria (maria?) in her khaki pants and blue shirt though i must say she seems to prefer her blue trousers and pink shirt. just wanted to ask if she is giving all her clothes an equal opportunity for their chance in the sun/blog?? also there is a rather unflattering photo of someone looking at the sunset in udaipur - i think whimsical may be the wrong word... |

I was so psyched to see you, but disappointed in your reasons for giving up on the trip. In my waking hours, I'd still be disappointed, but probably even more psyched to see you than I was in the dream. Also, both of you are kicking ass at this blog. | 5th November 2006 Bernie& Iris | Response to FAQs - From: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Thanks for the quick response. We just read your FAQs and thought we would comment before we read the rest of your blog. Two things: 1. Let us know which places you will be travelling to and if we have any friends/acquaintances etc in any of these places, we will let them know and who knows, they may allow you to sleep on their floors for $5.00 Canadian Dollars or less (real deal since your buck is worth more than ours). If you told us of the places you were travelling to, our apologies for having forgotten so soon. I, Bernie was probably thinking about some question to ask while you were telling us about the places you were planning to see OR I just plain forgot. My short term memory is getting worse all the time but at my age, I'm entitled to forget things. Old age does have certain perogatives, I think. 2. We loved your witty Qs and As. Is the phrase "Cheapness trumps girliness" copyright? If so, do we have your permission to use the phrase as approriate? We promise to use it only in Canada and to always cite the source. P.S. This email is being sent from Koh Phangan on November 5, 2006, which just happens to be a full moon. We came to Koh P this am and plan to leave on the 1:00 a.m. ferry-the first ferry that leaves after 16:30 hours, which of course is to early to leave since the Moon Party only starts at about 19:00 or 20:00 hours. We are really noticeable since the mean age seems to be 28.5 years. All of the young people are very nice and pleasant to us. As Moria said in her FAQs, there are some things which one has to experience before it's too late. We may never have the chance to experience a Full-Moon party on Phangan again. It's 6:00 pm and we are catching up on our emails (and will be reading your trip comments) while waiting for the FM Party to start. |
| 30th October 2006 Fergus | - From: Kickin' it with Iris and Bernie E-coli........I remember that little fecker well. Mine was of the Ecuadorian persuasion, but I'm sure the effect is pretty similar!!! Just remember, you’re not a real traveller till you’ve had e-coli and if you can catch yourself a dose of malaria you’ll really be on the road to veteran status!! |
| 30th October 2006 Tess | Flagyl - From: Kickin' it with Iris and Bernie Kate: If the cipro doesn't work after a week, then you will have to start a course of Flagyl or Metronidazole. Kerala's pretty laid back, so take the time (if you can) to rest and get your strength back. P.S. - Do you take a dose of pepto bismal every morning? It helps. P.P.S. -Be sure to visit the beach at night to see the phosphorecense in the waves. Amazing!! --K.K. in hotlanta |

| 28th September 2006 Wendison | the animals - From: Dysentery: 3, Us: 0 (by Moria) I am saddest about the animals. I will never go to Inja now! Poor cows. They'd probably rather be eaten that have their ribs show. |
| 28th September 2006 Zach | Um... where's the dysentery? - From: Dysentery: 3, Us: 0 (by Moria) The title promised dysentery. I want dysentery! Or at least some mild nausea. Where's that part of your story??? Who cares about skinny donkeys. I want to know what you ate, and what it did to you! Make with the D!!!! |
| 28th September 2006 Carolyn | Wear a Scarf or hat around your Head - From: The First Taste of Dysentery Geez Kate don't touch the dogs then you will get sick and you won't be able to send us tales of your adventures |
| 25th September 2006 a concerned friend | dogs are your friend - From: The First Taste of Dysentery hey Kate, don't listen to the nay-sayers, dogs are your friends, and so are camels, elephants and all other members of the animal kingdom, feel free to pet, hug and kiss all of gods creatures. Except of course for the damned cows, kill them on site!! DO IT |
| 25th September 2006 Tess | RABIES KILLS! - From: The First Taste of Dysentery I see you're ignoring my #1 piece of advice already, Ketty. In case you forgot what I said, Rabies is 100% lethal. That means if you get bit or you contract it from an animal's perspiration, YOU WILL DIE. Please do not laugh that off as I'm extremely interested in your future travels. Stay away from the dogs and monkeys. Check the CDC website if you don't believe me. Thik hain? Thik hain. OK. Sounds great so far! Love you. Can't wait to see your reaction to Jaipur! xox Tess |
| 25th September 2006 Jeanne | Wish I were there... - From: The First Taste of Dysentery Hey,back in the big smoke of Kerry, good fun, but would far rather be there with you right now, rather than here trying to decide what to do next! Poor Lucy, how's she doing?Tell her I said hi, I'll email soon xxx |
| 24th September 2006 mom | - From: The First Taste of Dysentery So happy to hear that you arrived safely; it had to be quite an eye opener. Please do not be so anxious to test your invincibility with animals of all kinds. Freedom to do as you please is a rare commodity. Sorry to hear about your bag; rolling luggage is also a possibility if that is all that is available -- though the crowded conditions may curtail it. Thank Moiria for being so organized for me; it gives me great comfort. |
| 23rd September 2006 stephanie | oops - From: The First Taste of Dysentery hi, i should have specified... only second class AC if you are traveling over night.. otherwise take the cattle car. good luck with those intestines. yikes. no fun. |
| 22nd September 2006 allyson | excedrin pm - From: We've arrived sorry to hear that your flight(s) were crappy. it sucks to have to resort to taking pills, but sometimes it's needed. i say take either 2 excedrin pm or 2 benadryl and that should knock you out for a decent plane ride. can't wait to see some pictures! lame question, but how's the weather? xoxo allyson |

| 17th September 2006 Matty G | Tech Wear - From: Bye Bye Hey darlin. Don't worry, you have built up a crazy amount of style points over the past couple years. Having to resort to tech wear attire for functionality is always a pity apearance-wise, but you'll be really happy when you haven't taken a shower for eight days and you're trying to hike through a monsoon. God speed! |
| 15th August 2006 Onnie | do it while you can! - From: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS My mom and your mom may be pooping their pants with worry, but I say more power to you, Ri! I think it's awesome that your embarking on this journey...you have to do it while you can. Travel the world and experience all that you can. And like you said in your blog (which had me laughing out loud at parts!) your children will delight in hearing of your tales! I wish you the best of luck and we'll be waiting for your safe return. Definitely include me in any of you e-mails that tell of your travels. I love you and will miss you, little cuz! |
