Being there alone was really a wonderful feeling of fulfillment - experiencing what these authors said about this Scottish [View Full Entry]

BEING A CIVIL ENGINEER, I am always fascinated with mega-structures - buildings, transport networks, tunnels, bridges, towers, dams, and other construction works having interesting characteristics; not only with the height but also in terms of how the structure was built as well as the amenities and features within it. One of them is the popular Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) as the second tallest building in the world which I visited in April 2004. Most of my travels abroad are the result of my desire to pursue further studies and trainings in the field of my profession or basically just part of my job. The never-ending process of learning also gives me the adrenalin to go out of the country and meet a lot of people from different walks of life. My two-year stay (2002-2004) in Australia was a [View Full Entry]

A memorable event when I was chosen to meet the Queen to receive a certificate for scholarship grant intended for incoming Filipino students at AIT.
APRIL 1991 WAS A MEMORABLE TIME in my life since that was the first time when I have to travel abroad - going to Thailand for my postgrad program. I was lucky to be accepted at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) located in Pathumthani Province (just 30 minutes from the old Don Muang airport) to pursue a MSc degree in Urban Planning. It was not easy to accept the fact that I will be leaving my home country and be a stranger in a Buddhist nation. With my positive attitudes towards living, it was not really hard to be [View Full Entry]
