Today I decided I would read and add a comment to a forum. I was nervous at first; concerned that what I had to say may not be of value to someone else, but found a question on finding lost luggage. Having experienced lost luggage and learned from the experience, I decided I could add a little something of value. I recommended tying colorful string to the handles and putting personal information in the inside of one's bag. It worked for me when I was traveling through Alaska and my bag stayed in Alaska while I and my family went on to California. ... read more

I learned this week that just because I type out my blog and save it, it does not mean it automatically publishes. It's a good lesson. Today, I read a forum on "What kind of world traveler are you?" It was an interesting read. The people started out discussing what it was they enjoyed best about setting up and travelling. I was pleased to find out that I am not the only one that enjoys the planning stage of travel. I was surprised to see that the bloggers discussed weight loss and sleep apnea as part of their travelling. One man stated that he finds he loses weight when he travels. I am enrolled in an Advanced Computer class that requires participation in blogging. Today, I reviewed a blog related to RV travel. It was fun to read about other people's experiences and see that others had helpful information for the initiate blogger who wanted information on traveling around the world in an RV. I did not realize how popular RV travel is in Australia and Europe, but apparently it is. It does not seem to be cost prohibitive, either. ... read more

I attempted to post this blog on May 11, 2011, but somehow did not do this correctly. I saved the post, but found that I could not publish the post. My family and I went to Las Vegas. We had one room reserved, but decided to let the teenagers have their own room. Unfortunately, it was the weekend of the rodeo; there were very few rooms left. My husband went to the front desk and, with courtesy and good manners, managed to get a suite for us for the same price we were paying for the regular room. Yay!!! We were able to enjoy our time with friends and family. Everyone had their own space, and, because the hotel was so accommodating, we will be going back there.... read more

Last summer my family, a friend, and I traveled to Yosemite Valley. We stayed at the Coursegold KOA just south of the valley. We "roughed" it with our tents and campfires. We had a wonderful time. (I will post photos within the next few days.) Though the ground was hard, and my self-inflating airmatress was as useful as the straw under the tent, we all seemed to sleep rather well. That is probably due to the hiking we did up the granite mountainside then the crawling around on the rocks below Yosemite Falls. OOOOHHHH that water was cold, painfully cold. But, what a treat on a hot summer's day. We learned that it was easier to climb barefooted, but my mother's voice frequented my mind-Safety First! Very true, but we climbed barefooted anyway. Thankfully the only ... read more
