Hey. I stumbled across your blog looking for reviews of the Cooperativa Spanish School and you've certainly helped me make up my mind, so, thank you.

I miss San Pedro too
I just got back to Denver, CO. And, yes, the marching bands are still at it. This time, they were prepping for school parties and Mother's Day festivities. I suspect they keep on keeping on all year long. I'd love to rent a quieter place next time I'm in town. I liked staying with a family, but I didn't get a whole lot of sleep :) Not sure when that'll be. I'm hoping to go back sometime later this year. Best, Carolyn

I miss San Pedro
After living in San Pedro for the first three months of the year, your post brought back memories. The missionaries drive me nuts. Did you know the big Christian school's playground has barbed wire and locked gates? Keeps the heathens out, I guess. So much for following Christ's teachings. Grr. I was surprised by the constant din too, although my house, which is out Finca Road way is pretty good. I do have to use ear plugs for the dogs. Are the marching bands still at it? I thought it was an Easter thing... which is why I decided to leave town for April (I'm in Vancouver). But I'm headed back May 4th. Need ear plugs? Perhaps a quieter place to rent (I'm moving to another house)? Cheers! Doug

So when are you moving there?
Sounds like a great trip and a wonderful experience! You are so right on with the bus trip experience and the expectations between locals and people from the US. I've had similar experiences and thoughts on my bus travels! Sounds like you are hooked on adventure travel! Come with me to Colombia this May!

More spanish phrases
Hey, Carolyn, sounds like ya'll are having a good time! LOL at your 'practicing' spanish. It reminds me of when I went to Costa Rica and all I knew was 'nadia ofreces mas musica' (nobody offers more music) which I learned from listening to Sacramento's local spanish station. I practiced it on a cab driver one time. He just looked at me strangly and turned up the radio! Try this the next time you and Paul take a cab somewhere and see what happens!
