Birthday Palaka! Happy Birthday James! Casey your photos are excellent. I hope you didn't bite the Raj. Isn't he the King of India? I meant to say Taj but by now you will know that it is made of lollies. The photo of you and Jiminy Cricket at the Great Building was very nice. I am so impressed you are actually there, in your nice puffy shoes. Mt Kangchendzonga looks grand and the photos of Ralang and the monks are terrific. Did you have a chat with the monks? The ones I met in Northbridge were very friendly. Did they complain about the cold? It looks amazing up in the high country. I was wondering if you can live at the Legend Hotel International? I think I would like to stay there for six months or more. You are now in the north west at Sikkim. How is that going? Casey you can wear two beanies at once. It will make you head look bigger but you must keep your ears warm. Palaka Bazaar breakfast: James you are the quintessential rugged Australian expat journo type.
In pony news, the race horse got out this morning and went down the road to his favourite grassy patch. Mister Pebbles (real name Pippin) has been whinnying like mad to get him to come home. He loves Cheeko. It has been raining everyday and our tanks are filling up. More photos please. What are you doing in Sikkim other than being in a James Bond film, replete with Jeeps and an ink black village? Casey, did you get to keep your puffy shoes?
laxmi the leopard Dear All,
The safari in Ranthambone must have been quite something. It reminds me of the Jurassic park Jeep chase sequence only with a crazed Indian man in place of Jeff Goldblum. Casey I am a big fan of the Leopard variety of BIG Cat. They are extremely pretty animals and deadly to boot. It is funny to think that they live in the trees where you are. Did you get to the Raj Casey? I heard it is made of Turkish Delight with glazed cherry inlays. Can you confirm this? Don't eat too much of it though, they may notice the bite marks in the mosaic!
hello casey loved your stories about the trip so far. especially the train trip and the hassle to get on, just crossing the road sounds like a work of art. well done all of you.
The safari sounds interesting too, pity about not seeing a tiger, but I guess the leopard was a bonus!
Bye for now, stay safe.
Thankyou for the postcard, arrived yesterday,1st Feb.
various stops to tiger safari Thankyou so much for your unbelievable account of Surat. Though I am unsure what a Fonzie impersonation on a Surat train platform entails, I am struck by your ingenius solutions to these madcap and chaotic situations. Did you pretend to rev your Bonneville? Mister "cause physical damage" chili powder in a glitter vest for bedtime!?! No wonder you invoked the emergency clause. Hi Casey!
viva las mumbai Dear Jim, Wendy and Casey,
Hello you guys. I very much enjoyed your phoos of the souhern beaches. Looks a bi like Noosa bu with los of large fishing boas. We have snakes over here oo.
If I were Mumbai, I would use a hose. It sounds absolutely fascinating. Casey, how are you finding the hustle and bustle of the city? Hannah is enjoying your photos. She got into her course in Melbourne! We are very pleased with her. Some photos of the food please. Take care, regardez mooser PS. are you in the countryside now?
colaba looks nice Hi Casey!
Hope you are well and enjoying your holiday. Colaba looks very interesting. Busy! Do they have "Cat" buses over there? Elephanta seems to be a monkey zoo with dog zookeepers. Here in Queensland we are all very excited about your world travels. Our ponies have escaped a few times this week which is keeping us on our toes. We had a bonfire last night while we ate our spagetti . Looking forward to your next report from konkan.
richard branson sighted at leopolds OK Casey, what have you done with James? Left him in the hotel room to recover while you and your ma have dinner with Mister Branson. Tres relieved to seeing your smiling faces in situ. More photos of Casey please!
