Something like 30 hours of travelling. Here are pictures from our last couple of days Ko Samui and Bangkok. Glad everyone enjoyed the blog http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Canada/Newfoundland-Labrador/St-John-s/blog-305954.html Samui Airport Normally we wouldn't feel the need to post twice in one day but the Ko Samui airport has convinced us otherwise. The whole airport is totally open air security baggage everything. It's like this huge outdoor boutique mall. We're currently sitting in our terminal which is basically a huge gazeebo with lushly appointed chairs and couches free internet and free drinkssnacks. And the planes a http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Ko-Samui/blog-303598.html Ko Samui pictures I hope everyone appreciates the frequent updates. Today we had to go to two different places got a virus i think got electrocuted weird voltage through the usb port or something and had to step over a fat thai lady who was watching weird thai soap operas. Well what can I say about that party except... we came we went we left early. The party definitely wasn't our scene though we did have fun with all of our friends. It certainly was what we expected a huge dance party on the beach but I guess I forgot to consider where everyone went to pee http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Ko-Pha-Ngan/blog-302098.html Full Moon Party and The Journey to Ko Phangan Hi all AK here.Yesterday we spent the day travelling across the country. We took a two hour ferry ride to the mainland and then a bus across the strip and another ferry to where we are now Ko Phangnan. Here we met up with a bunch of othe med students who are travelling Kelly Jess Jimmy Susan Danielle Renee and Nik. It was great to see everyone and we had a big reunion breakfast and are h http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Ko-Pha-Ngan/blog-301693.html Pictures Pictures from the last few days http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Ko-Phi-Phi/blog-300838.html The sea was angry that day... The island we're on is properly called Ko Phi Phi Don. There's a smaller uninhabited island just south of here called Ko Phi Phi Leh. There's a bay there called Maya Bay and this is where they filmed the movie The Beach. The movie's about a traveller in Thailand who's weary with the same old tourist route and ends up finding a commune of like minded people on a pristine secluded beach. The ac http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Ko-Phi-Phi/blog-300509.html Sunny Day in Ko Phi PHi Hi all Anna Kate here.So we are mid way through another beautiful day on Ko Phi Phi. I have to admit when we all arrived here yesterday after our beautiful resort stay at Raylay we all kind of cringed when we saw the mobs of travellers and the maze of stalls off the beach selling whatever you might need. But now after a day of rest and a night of killing ants and a ... scorpion in our hotel ro http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Ko-Phi-Phi/blog-299957.html Ko Phi Phi and more pics We arrived in Ko Phi Phi this morning just catching up on some errands. We left our hostel in Krabi with everyone feeling pretty awful. Took a cab to Ao Nang where we caught a longtail boat to Railay. Railay isn't an island it's actually a peninsula that just has no road access. Weather was beautiful and the limestone cliffs karsts were stunning as our boat landed along with the white sand b http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Ko-Phi-Phi/blog-299480.html Krabi and more pictures Early morning update before we get the boat to Rai LehArrived in Krabi 6pm last night. Beautiful views coming in of the limestone cliffs and the mountains. The airport and our plane was 90 tourist. Krabi is a relatively small town 20000 people and mostly a jumping off point for beach destinations nearby. We checked into a new guesthouse this time with no AC. It was a bit of a sweaty night http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Krabi/blog-298197.html Airport Quick update from the Bangkok airport.Mark and I rented scooters yesterday and headed up into the mountains while the girls shopped in the city. A bit unnerving in the Chiang Mai traffic at first but we got used to it fairly quickly. Beautiful day for a ride up the mountain Doi Suthep. Halfway up there is a temple very nice but not as interesting as the ones in the city. Might feel a little mo http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/Central-Thailand/Bangkok/blog-297889.html Shopping Party Hi allAnna Kate again. We're continuing to enjoy Chiang Mai. Today is our last day here unfortunatley but looking ahead we can't complain... after all it is almost BEACH TIME. Which is what I've been looking forward to most swimming snorkeling boat rides waterfalls etc. Colin described yesterday's adventures perfectly. The rafting was definitely the best part. It was nice to get wet both f http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/North-West-Thailand/Chiang-Mai/blog-297439.html Pictures etc This will be a long one since I have the camera here and will post some pictures if I can.But first here's our phone number. 011 66 80 6005 509 this is exactly what you need to dial from canada. Instead we're at the massage parlour where the inmates work after they're released. Very nice and fancy we're getting hour long full body massages for 180 baht 3Spent the morning exploring Chiang Mai beautiful city. We mostly visited the Buddhist temples wats which are incredible. Wi http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/North-West-Thailand/Chiang-Mai/blog-296410.html The beginning... Hi all Anna Kate here.Well I had to laugh at Colin's post. By some sweating more that others was a polite way of saying my girlfriend is a sweaty mess. Actually it isn't that bad and is definitely better than I thought it would be. The flight as Colin said was definitely a long one. If anyone has seen the new movie WallE they will know what I'm talking about when I say I felt like one o http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/North-West-Thailand/Chiang-Mai/blog-296124.html First Post We finally get a few minutes to sit down with the internet. So a brief run through of our first few daysLeft St. John's on Thursday with an overnight stop in Toronto. We met up with Luke and Phil and spent the night visiting some of our old haunts in the Annex. Nothing had really changed and it was great to spend some time in the old neighbourhood. Drinks were had and enjoyed at Future Bakery http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/North-West-Thailand/Chiang-Mai/blog-296118.html
