ok - where are the food stalls
Hello again from your little dossing amigos. We admit that we are now dragging our heels on this here blog but there seems to be so many things to do and see in S.E Asia that it's been difficult to keep you up to date - end of excuses, we're bone idle... So retracing our steps a little, we're delighted to add this entry to the blog where we had 2 of the most amazing days of the trip and possibly our lives (dramartic??? me??? never...) We came across an entry in our guidebook (a book we have now realised is [View Full Entry]

Ciaran digesting the local delicacies

Bless me father, for I have sinned, it's been three weeks since our last confession (excuse the blasphemy, I had to). But we've just been having too much fun to get a minute to sit down and update the blog. We're now sitting in the hotel room near the airport in Bangkok, getting ready to fly to Phuket to see Billy, Tracey and Taylor, so we've no excuse! Absolutely knackered after some monster journeys over the last four days in which we've clocked up about 1,200km, the bulk of which was in two journeys of 36 and 10 hours each. Up [View Full Entry]

Thailand: Islands and Bangkok So here we are again guys with another update of our latest adventures on our doss around the world. After leaving Malaysia we decided to head straight for the islands of Thailand. Thought aboout going to the jungle first, however considering the complaints of leeches (ehh, I'm ok for now thanks) and our no doubt endless comparisons to jungle life in the Amazon - we gave it a miss. So first stop Ko Samui. We had heard a few negative reports about this island "if you never want to eat local food, meet local people or hear [View Full Entry]

Celebrating some good news

Hi All, Our sincere apologies for the delay in updating our little blog here, but we have been tucked away on a beautiful secluded beach, which had electricity now and again and virtually no internet - but that's for another blog update. So we thought we'd better get back on the old t'internet and get blogging. This section has a few pics on Kuala Lumpur and the rest is pretty much dedicated to the islands of Perhentian. I think we may have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to visit both Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Tioman (in the last [View Full Entry]

Well, what can I say? If you are atall miserable with the dreary weather, hacked off with your busy schedules at work/home or generally just in need for some R & R - TURN AWAY NOW!!!!!!! Crystal clear water, coral that no words can describe and fish that the best artists in the world would struggle to imagine and create... this place was stunning. From sunbathing to snorkelling, eating and sleeping - it was 5 days of total chilling out. The pictures really do tell the story for this one better than we would. The snorkelling experience will be difficult to [View Full Entry]

So we finally got a chance to finish off our blog on our month and a bit in India. We've just been far too busy over the last week and a half or so, what with gorging ourselves in Singapore and snorkelling off tropical islands in Malaysia, it's been a nightmare (Snarf...)! So after the Himalayas we jumped on a sleeper night train for 14 Indian hours (= add 2 on to that at least!). As you can see from the pics, the gist of it is that there are three bunks on top of each other and everyone crams on [View Full Entry]

Well hi there! So we've almost caught up with our blog now. We're currently in Rajasthan, West and South West of Delhi in the desert heat, but we'll save that for another entry! So after Rishikesh, we spent a night in Haridwar (one of the oldest cities in the world apparently and again on the Ganges and therefore very holy to Hindus) and then took what I can only describe as the bumpiest bus journey I've ever been on up into the Himalayas to a town called Uttarkashi! The journey was pretty cool, due to the scenery and the fact that [View Full Entry]

This is what you end up with when you arrive somewhere after a ten hour train journey, at half eleven at night. A room at a cross between a homeless unit and a brothel! Interesting sounds!
Please relax, sit with back straight - “as much you have ability.” Now repeat after me: Ooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… Ooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… Ooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… Rishikesh - the Kingdom of Yoga and Meditation. Ciarán and I have truly loved our experience here and stayed for 1 whole week. Sad to leave but thems the breaks. This leg of our journey started off a bit dodge. We went from just a few cows kicking about to a hoard of cows EVERYWHERE dominating every path/road you can think of which means cow [View Full Entry]

"So we

Right so we finally got some time to put up Delhi photos! Wow, what an introduction to India this was! So we arrived late on the Fri night (15th of Aug) and after a little bit of confusion found the guys who were picking us up. Got to the Hotel and tried to sleep but we were a little out of sync. Next day, we got up and went for a little walk around the area of New Delhi we were staying in, Karol Bagh. First impression: People....everywhere! As described and then some! So we thought we'd try and start this blog thing with a bit about the two nights out we had on the 2nd and 9th of Aug in Glasgow. Some of the two families met up for a meal in Konaki's Greek Restaurant, which turned out to be a brilliant night with further drinks back in the flat in Peel Street (sob, sob, goodbye loyal flat!) and Donald Where's Your Troosers followed by Wild Rover til late in the night! Someone dragged their poor son up to dance to Abba (thanks Mam!) and that started off the dancing. Brilliant night was [View Full Entry]
