Pics of food
i feel super hungry now..I'm surprised that good food can be found in Vietnam because the feedback on food from friends who went to Vietnam is generally bad

You had a free & easy trip? Your blog post makes me realised that there's so much more to explore in Korea.

Otaru
Otaru's definitely a good place to visit out of Sapporo... my wife and I have done 4 trips out there over 7 years of travelling to Sapporo. It's a bit touristy and commercial, but it's a nice day out regardless.

do email me if you would like Mr Zhuang's details. My friend heard that Mr Zhuang was a pretty good guide, so we booked him. By the way, he speaks Mandarin during the tour. There are plenty of taxi drivers (at Hualien train) whom you can hire as well.

taxi driver-cum-tour guide Taroko gorge
We are planning to go to Taroko gorge and thought taxi driver-cum-tour guide is a very good idea. In your review you mention about the good service provided by Mr Zhuang. Do you mind to share his details with us if you have it. Would it be safe to just engage a taxi cum guide from the Hua lien station? Do you have any recommendation? Many thanks for your help in advance.

My friends and I visited Alishan without a tour guide, except the few hours of sunrise tour. We stayed at Shin Shin Minsu which offered a sunrise tour. I suppose other lodging will also provide such tours becoz catching the sunrise is a highlight of visiting alishan.
