It has been a while since I've posted any blogs and it was a busy summer of travel, so I've got some catching up to do. Last April, Grace and I took a weekend trip to Milwaukee to check out the Milwaukee Musuem of Art, a daytrip to Madison and to see a baseball game at Miller Park. [View Full Entry]

Last September, Grace and I were invited to a wedding in the lovely city of Vancouver, BC. The area around there is absolutely beautiful. We also had the added bonus of Brent being able to make the trip as well. The wedding was fantastic. It took place on a boat and then afterwards we cruised around the waters surrounding Vancouver. My only regret, I couldn't make it to another wedding that was taking place the following weekend in La Connor, WA (between Vancouver and Seattle). The next day, we took the ferry over to Victoria. This is another absolutely beautiful place. [View Full Entry]

In August, I had to go up to Lebanon, NH for some meetings. Me being me, I couldn't just do the meetings, so I planned a few things before and after them. The nite before the meeting, a group of us attended a Red Sox game at fabled Fenway Park. To anyone who likes baseball, this park is a must see, right up there with Wrigley Field. The weekend after the meeting, another group of us headed north to Montreal for the weekend. A great place to visit and a genuinely unique experience. This was the first trip where I really [View Full Entry]

Thanks to work, I finally got a chance to really explore Austin. I'd been there a couple of times before but had never ventured very far from downtown. I found out that the rest of the city is fantastic. I also found some great resturants. The three I would recommend are Truby's (Tex-Mex), Kerby's Place (Organic food cafe) and Scholz's Garten (German food). The only minus about the place is its traffic. Really quite terrible. In July, Grace and I made a trip out to Colorado for some family time. First we visited Brent and Holly at their new townhome in Parker. outside of Denver. We then made the trip up to Estes Park for a weekend of family fun. We hiked, golfed, ate and hung out. A nice relaxing time. [View Full Entry]

In August, Grace and I did a trip to visit various art museums and baseball parks across the Midwest. 9 art museums and 4 ballparks in 6 days. We also visited some family along the way. First we drove to Louisville, KY. Here we stayed at the fabulous 21 Museum Hotel. As the name implies, it was a hybrid of a contemporary art museum combined with fashion hotel. It was one of the rare times I'd been able to suprise Grace. In Louisville we attended a Louisville Bats minor league game at Louisville Slugger Field and visited both the Speed Museum [View Full Entry]

Grace and I took a little trip to Little Rock, AR. The only reason for us going was to check out a Picasso exhibit that was going on at the Arkansas Art Centre. The exhibit was extensive. It had a lot stuff that is rarely seen like his sketches and pottery. It really showed the man as more than just a painter. We were both suprised that Little Rock was actually a fairly nice town. The downtown had a neat shopping area called the River Market and the Clinton Library was interesting to walk thru (or at least I thought so, [View Full Entry]

Grace had found an incredible deal at the Venetian in Vegas. She hadn't been there since before she was legal and I'd been on the road a lot for work. So we thought would be a good idea to go and spend some time together. And we had a great time. Ate some good food, hung out at the pool, walked the strip, gambled and did some shopping. The best by far was eating at Lutece, a french resturant at the Venetian. The food and service were the best I've ever experienced. If you have the dollars I would recommed it [View Full Entry]
